Hi.
I certainly dont have any answers. I use Instagram which is linked to my Facebook. I struggle trying to be original with my posts & finding the time. I do join in on the daily challenge thread where everyone is really supportive & friendly. I have favourited your shop & followed you on Instagram. Good luck. If anyone out there has a magic answer I’d love to hear it.

It feels so much easier to post something that feels more original when there is a monthly challenge to fallow im trying to make a new pattern for my posting i did an Instagram real for the first time on Sunday and it got a way better reach then i normally get it got 1000 views with in half an hour so i would defiantly recommend trying making one to boost your shop

i have fallowed you back and favorited you shop

I am new to Instagram ( only joined because things are so quiet and I needed to try something different) . I had a look at your reel, that’s terrific it had such a good reach. Is it a little video that you’ve done on your mobile 'phone? Do you need an app for it?

Thanks you , i was suprised at the reach it had but instagram are aparently pushing reals more to try and compeat with tiktoc so its easy to get them to do good and i just used my mobile phone nothing fancy to do it you can save the real to your phone and then upload it to tiktoc after so you are showing your self off in 2 places but only having to make one vidoe

As it seems to be so quiet, would anyone like to come over to my Facebook page this morning and add a promotional link to my post?

That’s a kind offer, I have done just that and shared the post.

Thanks for joining in Helen. I’m struggling to find anything to say on FB lately, so thought this type of post might give us all a little lift.

Hi Amanda,

Just catching up on the forums this morning! I’ve added a piece to your post (thank you )

When I’ve done a reel in the past I’ve used the template on Canva - made it much easier!

Cheers Lou

Thanks Lou. I’ll have a look at Canva, although I think reels might be a non-starter for me without a mobile phone. I like to keep up with what’s going on though!

Your welcome, to be honest I tend to put the reel together on my laptop then save into my phone to upload to IG! Good luck :crossed_fingers:.

OMG I thought I had just walked into the local FE college where they were teaching foreign languages!! I am in awe of all of you who know what these things are never mind manage to use them

Its taken me a couple goes to learn how to make reeals , tictoks and how to do pintrest for buizness thankfully most of these can be made in batches when your feeling up to it and then saved for later and i realy recoment using music or sounds that are trending right now

Im starting to think we should make a bunch of mini alliances so we all boost eachothers things as much as we can , instagram and facebook tictok all boost your poasts (to those that dont fallow you) bassed on interactions on them so if we can hype eatch other up comment on and save eachothers things on facebook instagram ect it will slowly but surly start to show us off more

They definitely seem like different languages! I only speak Instagram and occasionally Facebook (neither fluently) I have no idea about twitter or TikTok  Unfortunately it seems that social media is the best way to promote shops so got try!

Oh yes Jo @GINGERPINEAPPLECRAFTS, I quite often read posts here and think “I don’t even know what that means” but have come to the conclusion that I probably don’t need to know most of it ! It seems that every day’s a school day, and every time I learn something new, they go and change it all again!!! Still, it keeps me awake I suppose.

@Sewyourkidding, as you suggest, Folksy sellers are stronger when they work together and from my experience, the Folksy community are very supportive of each other when it comes to promotion. There are lots of threads here on the forum which extend onto social media to increase each other’s visibility. Things have been so quiet for me that yesterday I put a call out for Folksy sellers to join in a little bit of networking on my Facebook page, only about 10 responded (which I found a little disappointing as so many sellers have said sales are down) but even so my normal reach was tripled, well worth the small effort. You are very knowledgable about social media, I think you ought give your idea a try if none of the existing activities appeal to you.

@Sewyourkidding I am going to have a look at your face book tonight when i get home from work - not allowed it at work and i am hopeless at using my phone as it is all too small :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: If I can fathom it i will add a link too! Thank you for doing it!

@plumporridge @GINGERPINEAPPLECRAFTS tell me what bits you dont know that yiu want a hand with

I dont use my facebook much but everything i put up on instagram instantly coppys on to my facebook

So i think we should start fallowing each other on instagram facebook ect and we need to all start likeing comenting and saving eachother things the more activety there is on eachother poast the more the algorithum ( computer coad that desides whats going to be good ) will show us off

I think Folksy sellers spend a lot of time doing that already, because you’re absolutely right, it does help push the posts out there. Do you join in with Folksy Friday? I spend a lot of time at the weekends liking and commenting on everyone’s contributions.

@Sewyourkidding @plumporridge - thank you for your helpful replies. I have spent some time trying to narrow down my fb, IG and pinterest pages and I think i may have cracked it :tada: I never realised that stuff i post migrates to other sites!!! I also think that someone had cloned my facebook page (or something like that) as i noticed it as being open in Harrogate which is not where i am. My other more established facebook showed me as Morley which is close enough to be right!
So i think i am on the way to being able to get things out there now!
I love Folksy Friday btw as I am addicted to collage making
