Selling Empty Boxes

Also a fan of Liz’ suggestion for the little chest of drawers - I LOVE those little things and have a few that I collected from special chocolate boxes and similar, I think from M&S, years ago and I use them for things like dress jewellery storage and for saving those spare buttons you get in little envelopes when you buy clothing.

They would doubtless be more work to make and need perhaps more expensive materials, but I bet they’d sell well covered in lovely papers. You can see the two I have in this photo - the larger one is super rigid and the smaller pale one (SO old, it’s very faded) is less so, but has a bit of padding on the top and I like the little ‘pulls’ which are made like those knotted cufflinks you get.

Hope you’ll be inspired!

I did a search and see that people sell the vintage chocolate box ones from the 60s/70s/80s on ebay, like this one: Vintage 1960s “Rose” Pattern Chocolate Box Drawers by Joseph Terry & Son | eBay UK. Might be worth buying one to take apart and create a template?

Hi Debbie. Have begun looking into this but they need a completely new engineering approach to maintain the rigidity of the base structure. The drawers would be no problem. So I have my thinking cap on now.
