Hi
I’m new to Folksy. I haven’t opened my shop yet until I can post the pieces safely, and it needs to look quality
I struggle to find natural, sustainable gift/mailing boxes for my wood turned bowls. 8x8x2 inch upwards
There are cardboard boxes of similar dimensions on eBay 9” x 9” x 12” 50 for just under £30.
If they are too flimsy you could always put a box within a box. With some starch packing noodle things.
Sorry just spotted you said 2” not 12” will look again.
There are some pizza style strong recycled cardboard boxes on eBay of slightly larger dimensions.
Hi,
I have bought small pizza boxes which are usually used for garlic bread etc and are pretty much that size (I would have to measure them to make absolutely sure) they are made of recycled plain brown card. I bought them from eBay. I then use brown paper sticky tape to close them.
thanks Ive just been looking on Tiny Box Company its taking hours as each piece I’ve made is a different size x
Yeah, it is time consuming. I have three different sizes of boxes that fit my items, obviously trying to keep the package as small as practically possible.
thankyou for looking
A lot of my pieces are different sizes, I ended up bulk buying packaging that fit most of what I offered and accepting that some pieces would send as a large letter when in theory they could fit a regular letter envelope but it was easier to budget for one type of envelope and accept that on some pieces, I’d be sending larger than needed. It was worth it for an easier life!
Tiny Box are wonderful for gift boxes in small quantities, but for postal packaging it’s better to buy bulk boring brown cardboard to protect your bowls. I have a similar issue with my clocks. Spending £1 or £2 per parcel is nothing against the damage that can result from insufficient protection! Look on ebay for deep strong pizza boxes by the 25 or 50, plus Eco-Flo starch puffs to fill the void. You will then have a standard size box to make postage calculations easy too.
I make my own boxes using salvaged cardboard from local shops, it’s quite fun and a cheap glue gun holds them together
Hi, I use Kite Packaging for all of my boxes, tape etc. I currently use 4 sizes of boxes, they have a good range and I’m sure they have double walled ones as well for fragile items. I’ve not had chance to look for your sizes but it might be worth popping over to compare their prices and sizes available.
yeh i’m looking at making my bowls and vases with in certain sizes in future so I only have maybe 3 or 4 different sizes
Good Idea thanks x

nice idea x
Ooh they look good. I might use these as the outside packaging. Some of my other pieces are quite fragile, as they are carved as well as turned
