Morning All,
Thought I would give you a heads up as I’m not sure how many of you ship to Canada or get orders from Canada but the on going strikes by the postal workers have now lead to such a large back log of mail that it is being held in the UK until there is space at the Canadian sorting centres! If I get an order from Canada I’m going to dropping them an email advising them of the situation, the fact that we have no way of knowing how long it will take to get there and asking them if they want to continue with the order. My understanding is that courier services (like fedex) are unaffected by this so might be an option (at appropriate costs) if a customer wants to continue with the order.

Thanks Sasha, for this info. I did know about the strikes but not about the backlog. I am expecting an order from Canada so I might forewarn my customer.
Thanks for the heads up, Sasha. I too knew about the strikes but wasn’t aware of the back log.

Thanks Sasha
yes I am quite worried about this as have a custom order which hasnt been paid for yet ( she is a returning customer and has paid in the past) but I have told her about the shipping backlog and what does she want me to do and she hasnt replied which makes me think I have wasted my time and money on this order
Does any one know if it’s affecting other international mail? We had 2 parcels which were unusually slower to be delivered than normal…one to France & one to USA. May’ve been coincidental…
America might be suffering a knock on effect of having lots of parcels building up at the border but it is time for America’s post to slow down because of seasonal increases in usage (they’ve got thanksgiving at the end of the month). Do you know about the electronic customs form for outside the EU shipments that is coming into use on Jan 1st?
I haven’t heard about that, but Mr SmallP may’ve done… will ask him…
