So quiet this year

This is my quietest time I’ve ever experienced in 5 years- its really demoralising. I expected a dip in sales but wasn’t expecting them to flatline, which they have since March :frowning:

I have been very quiet too. Only 6 sales in May and nothing so far in June.
To be fair though I haven’t been making or promoting very much, just not had the motivation at the moment.

I’m so happy to have had a sale last night, as my last sale was 10th May. It was from a repeat customer, they’ve been buying from me every so often for about three years, I’m guessing when a birthday or something comes up.

yep, veeeery quiet, i do some re-listing every day, but even my shop stats have plummeted.

Shortly after posting the above this morning, I had another sale, so I’m feeling much more optimistic! Keep going guys, I’m sure sales will come xxx

Interesting reading all your comments; no sales on for me on Folksy since February but I have been selling elsewhere. It is tough, I try not to rely on one source of sales but it can be a bit demoralising!

I’ve posted on Facebook this morning inviting Folksy sellers to leave a link to their most colourful item. It’s so quiet, please take a few minutes to join in, share and like to help our shops get seen. xxx

Been here since end of April and not had a single sale yet. I spent a lot of time making sure my listings were optimised and well written and have never got above page 5 of the search results despite new sellers coming along and getting higher listings!
Very demoralising!

Hi all, so I’m a long timer and fairly frequently in the mid/low end of the bestsellers chart.
I can absolutely confirm it’s tanking right now :astonished: ! My sales are half what they were just a month ago.
Don’t panic it’s not you !
The weather is amazing, we just had half term, people are catching up with friends and relatives. Saving for holidays which are more expensive this year. Shopping in person.
Take heart so many more people are used to shopping online than say 18months ago. Keep building your social media audience, spruce up your photos etc whilst times are slow.

I agree Dawn, it’s the ideal time to take a good look at everything and make sure we are ready when those buyers return!

Just been reading all the comments and can only agree with everyone, it is extremely quiet and true I too think people are spending their time catching up with family, friends and spending on a day out, plus the fantastic weather we’ve had forces people out now. I don’t think they are out spending in shops (well not in my area), as sadly the high streets are looking awful with all the shops closed down. Hopefully, things will pick up again as we head towards that manic time of year (fingers crossed!). Now is the best time to make, stock up, ready (for hopefully) the made rush. Keep positive everyone :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks for joining in Sarah. It has helped boost my reach this week (it’s been dire) and I’m going to use the shops which posted for my Folksy Friday board tomorrow. xxx

I think that these are just strange times and we need to hang on in. I’ve just clocked up my first year on Folksy and don’t do The Dark Side, so have nothing to compare it to! But I sell through galleries, and these sales are well up on the usual for this time of year, so maybe people are just wanting to get out into the ‘real’ rather than the virtual retailing environment having spent so long looking at screens!

My last order on Folksy was March this year and my other 2 ecommerce sites aren’t that great either, lets hope it picks up otherwise I might have to get a proper job !!!

It might be an idea to read the post on here “Has social media changed in the last two weeks?” and click on the reply by @SashaGarrett. It’s very informative, thanks Sasha.

Me too, I think we’re all finding it slow going. Or non-existant!

Well I started of about 2 months ago now and already thinking what else I can do now, maybe just doing craft fairs just so unsure, but reading how so many are struggling to I hope it starts to pick up for all it does get disappointing:/ xxxx
