This particular Christmas bauble sold out last year, but when I created the listing I added it to my Folksy Pinterest board. Suddenly it’s gone crazy, with over 6000 views and over 200 clicks!
I wish I knew why. I certainly haven’t promoted it, as I knew I didn’t have any more. If only I had the time and materials to make some for all those potential customers!

A similar thing has happened to me. A child’s apron I sold years ago gets multiple views from Pinterest. Unfortunately the fabric is long discontinued!
Set up Santa’s little workshop?
I wish I understood how Pinterest works, but it’s a total mystery to me. I just pin and hope!
I don’t understand properly either, even after attending a 3 hour workshop on it.
The best I say about Pinterest is that it isn’t social media, it’s a visual search engine. So think Google in pictures rather than words. Pins never go away & can resurface years after original pin has been posted.
I’m in the habit now of pinning every time I list an item, and also pin things from other sellers on a ‘Folksy Finds’ board. I do prefer that platform to other social media. Weirdly, my personal Pinterest account seems to have disappeared recently, so I’m now using my business account the same way I used to use my old one.
