Can I ask all sellers on here of Stained glass to check this Australian Ebay shop to see which of your pieces are for sale there… I’ve not looked fully yet but have found my peacock (oddly wirh photos other designs as well as mine), a rainbow cross and my teacup. I am sure i will find more
https://www.ebay.com.au/str/stainedglasssoapsandcandles?_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l161211
It is of course impossible that a single stained glass maker can have so many things handmade by them for sale. It is physically impossible to make so many things !!
Not sure what the scam is but scam it is indeed. I have messaged them and told them quite clearly i am about to phone Ebay and report them for fraud.
Mine – from my sold items file :
Mine supposedly for sale but sold on Folksy 130807
Please feel free to take any appropriate action yourself if you find something of yours in here @VioletFlameGlassArt I think I spotted your rainbow bee for starters.

PS It’s really weird as there are often several pictures of completely different things against a listing and they don’t match the description. But the description doesnt really match the intial photo anyway. It looks as if they mainly sell candles and the glass sales are occasional. I wonder if they drop ship those… good luck trying with mine as i only ship to the UK.
But they have a mahoosive feedback count… very very odd

What a weird set up! I think what ‘Lorraine’ is doing is making the pieces to order (if and when she gets a sale) so the buyer does at least get (an approximation) of the piece advertised. I guess it allows the seller to advertise lots and lots of designs, but not have to make them up first (and not having to come up with the idea!)
I bet all those photos are stolen from different places. Let us know how you get on - I can’t believe her cheek!
I bet she doesn’t use dichroic topped nuggets
It did rather stop me dead in my tracks. Can’t remember now what I was doing to have spotted it. Hope it was nothing important.
Well I’ve reported the seller as breaking Ebay rules but it says for privacy reasons they won’t disclose the outcome. Very helpful.
For the record these are the three things of mine that are listed.
Framed daffodil

Peacock

Rainbow cross
Cross 2colour 049 Rainbow #2008 @FOLKSY @201128 @12.00.jpg
The .jpg prefix detail under each is the name of my photo which clearly shows when i made it, sold it, where and how much for. Jenny is my daughter and she gave that to her stepmum so i’m pretty sure it never made it to Australia
I note that some of the older listings show a pretty poor standard of workmanship so am thinking maybe these are genuinely made by the Australian seller. There is a teacup which is a very poor copy of my design but is not guite the same and is really rather wonky… that made me laugh
I’ve taken a look but can’t see any of my work on there.
Maddie I made a note of their listing url as I recognized it as t jumped out at me as sooooo very similar to yours.
It is now showing as no longer avaiable.
If you google search on yours you get this :
The AU link is the one I had copied above.
This now shows as :
Which is very very odd you must admit given that i emailed the seller and complained they were selling fraudulently and then since have reported them specifically to Ebay.
Hopefully it will be sorted.
It definitely was there on Ebay earlier as i found the link in my Google history. My peacock and my cross now also (just !) been removed.
The daffodil is still there so I’ve just sent them a very angry email. They should be awake in OZ now. I used Capitals…and I Never use capitals except at the start of a word
**Update… my daffodil has now gone too. well that’s something
All very odd.~
Who thinks the seller will reply to me ?

Hi Joy
How upsetting for you. It happened to me and yes, it took the wind out of my sales for a few minutes then it turned to anger. The imposter actually opened a shop on Folksy and was selling my work using my photographs and my description. The only difference in the listing was they halved the asking price to my listing.
Pleased to read you have sorted it and the ozzy seller has removed them, or eBay has removed them.

Thanks for that. This isn’t the first time I’ve had photos stolen on Ebay. They are pretty good at taking them down within a few days.
Every few days or so I use google image search to see if my images are being used elsewhere. I’ve caught a few culprits this way.

Your knitwear is stunning so I have no idea how they’d ever replicate that anyway. Makes you wonder if the shop is some kind of money laundering thing going down.
Thanks so much Maddie for saying that.
I have been very slowly re photographing my jewellery, nearly finished the coral. Your photography is so good can you take a look and see what you think!

It’s a good thing we all look out for each other. I do a Google search every now & then and so far all o.k apart from the one instance spotted by another Folksy seller who kindly notified me any Folksy

A little update. I thought to check the Australian stained glass Ebay shop again today. I saw Buddha which looked to be a good design but really poorly exexuted so google image searched and sure enough the design clearly belonged to a Canadian seller on Etsy. I messaged her with the link and instructions on how to contact Ebay. She’s taken a look in the Ebay shop and found the OZ seller has multiple listings with her images. I’ve left her hopefully reporting them and getting rid.
It’s really good to be able to help out a fellow artist that you’ve never met but just have a common interest.
Sometimes the internet is fantatstic. I hope she gets sorted too.
