Summer exhibition promo

The Exhibition shop shows pieces from those chosen to be exhibited in the Summer Exhibition. The Summer Selling Show is ‘the little sister’ of the exhibition and has different makers/sellers shown there.

So, it’s what was called the Fringe last year?

Totally underwhelming Mick @SteampunkCreativeEngineering
You can’t really bill something as a ‘show’ and then hide it away in a back room. Also, the gift guides get rotated round throughout the day so potential buyers can see them. I’ve visited the home page countless times today and refreshed everytime and not once has the Selling Show ‘guide’ appeared.
Anyway, time for a cup of tea and a biscuit.

I think so yes Helen.

Ah, that’s where it is! Thanks mick. Honestly, I would never have found that. I don’t often look in the gift guide section

I think so. It’s different makers than the main exhibition

Aha. Then yes - a) it’s really well hidden! and b) the terminology got me at least well confused!!

Actually, when I found it, it’s another lovely selection.

Hi everyone. There will be a button (and hopefully also a banner) on the homepage for the Summer Selling Show very soon! It was supposed to be live this morning but unfortunately Doug has had an injury (he’s ok but hasn’t been able to work this week). We’re really sorry that the button’s not live yet but it is coming!

So currently it’s in the Gift Guide page here https://folksy.com/gift-guides
We also shared it in an email to 60k subscribers this morning and we’ve promoted it on our social channels too, where you can also find it on our linkinbio page in our Instagram profile Linkin.bio

Gosh that took some finding Mick! I didn’t even realise the exhibition showed up in there.

Lol, @ccbandatp - I found it because a) I’m determined and b) that’s how Folksy did the ‘Fringe’ last year.

I thought I remembered the Fringe having its own header like the exhibition?

So sorry to hear about Doug - I did think you would have done something as the Fringe was so well promoted last year! It just seemed a bit odd. A speedy recovery to Doug

Yes it’s what the Fringe was last year!!

Yes, it did have a link direct from the home page last year, that’s what is missing (for now, it seems) this year, the content of the Fringe/Summer Selling Show has been in a ‘gift guide’ format both years.

Well I didn’t see either in the gift guides last year - shows how much notice I take :joy:

Wow Joy, I was already feeling a bit deflated. Now my goodies apparently reside in a bargain basement. That’s not even the sad thing…the sad thing is that all I can think of is that at least Woolworths basement had pick’n’mix and we haven’t even got that and I’m old enough to remember Woolworths!!

Thank you Camilla, I feel a little better now. Poor Doug though, hope he’s back soon, we need him!

There was some amazing work in the Fringe exhibition last year - I certainly didn’t consider any of it as bargain basement. I have already had a quick peak and there’s some fabulous things - certainly not bargain basement! Lots of hard work and creativity

Sorry to hear you feel that way, Joy. We’re really proud of the show and think it’s packed with wonderful things. We did spend a lot of time putting it together and have lots of promotions planned around it, but we can remove your pieces from it, if you prefer?
