Would be most interested to know how many of the exhibits in the exhibition / summer sale have sold… presumed as a result of their appearance there.
My own two summer sale pieces didn’t sell but i would not have expected the duck which was not one I submitted to sell as it’s not ‘duck buying season’; Even so my views on both pieces were no more than when I list a new design.
I can’t see that sales across the site in August have been in any way better than normal. I made it into the BS list twice and the second time was with only £50 worth + a bit of P&P sales and my overall sales in August were down on previous years…
I do wonder if the average punter cares at all about any of that. What our shoppers want to see is a selection of irresistble things to tempt them to shop and shop some more.
I have always really appreciated the way the Favourite feature gives a constantly changing view on each visit. Must be some pretty bored visitors at the moment with the current plus ça change and all that .
I was in the Summer Sale not the exhibition and had a sale of one of the blankets featured and another blanket from my shop not featured, in the same order.
The blanket featured isn’t actually one I would have picked myself. It’s an old design from years ago that I add back to my shop every so often and I haven’t had a sale of that design in about 2 years.
So I was surprised it sold and the buyer ordered a newer design at the same time.
I have no idea if it was through the sale though. Although the buyer is new to me and not a seller on Folksy so it’s possible.

My bear that was chosen for the exhibition wasn’t available for sale as it’s one I made for myself, there were 2 others chosen by Folksy for the selling shop, they are still for sale.
I listed a set of 4 original artworks, one was in the exhibition, two of them sold. It was the exhibition which gave me the impetus to list them so I am very happy.
Brilliant @HelenCliffordArt , that’s really good to hear. Making my entries have lead to a whole new chapter for Bearlescent that I might never have started. Making the leaves for Melody gave me ideas for themed bears, after making the first bear for sale with leaves and pumpkins I started wondering how I could make a forest floor stick to the wood slice without using glue which lead to the mixed media displays, I now have more ideas than time. Also, I stressed for 3 days with the photography for it and nearly didn’t enter but it was the best thing I could have done as my photos are so much better now.
