I can’t find another thread about this, apologies if there is one floating around. Has anyone else had issues updating tags? I’ve noticed for a while now that often, when I update a tag and click save, only half the word saves?! So I tried inputting ‘Valentine’s Day card’ for the February theme of the day and this happens:
Does anyone else have this issue? It’s doing my head in! I thought I was saving too quickly so I’ve taken to leaving the tab open for a minute or editing some text or title, but that’s not always working either.
Yes it’s been happening to me this week but as my tags were rather long I assumed I’d exceeded some sort of character count as I just can’t get 15 tags to appear so I had to leave it at around 11.
Huh. I don’t think it’s character related, at least not for me. @Folksyadmin do you have any info on this?
I have had the same since I joined Folksy over a year ago. Like Julie @CraftstoKeep I do have some long tags with three words in so I think it is to do with spacing as well. I shorten or re write some of the tags and that seems to help.
There is a maximum number of characters you can have totaled over all your tags so if you are using long phrases in your tags you can run out of characters before you run out of tags. Try deleting one of the other tags to free up some characters and then entering the new tag to see if works. Once that has saved try re entering the deleted tag to see if only part of that saves which would confirm that you’ve used up all the character limit.

Yesss deleted a longer tag and now it’s working. I had no idea there’s an overall character limit, how have I been on Folksy 3-4 years and not realised?!

Thanks for confirming that. It was all I could think of as it’s never happened before but I was using much longer tags this week. I had to do a lot of deleting so that tags weren’t cut off in the middle and ended up with less than 15 but I assumed there was a character limit as well as a tag limit.
