Thank You Folksy - the new listing management tools are amazing!

OMG just went to copy and relist a recently sold listing - and nearly fell off my chair - under the new ‘Manage Listings’ on the dashboard side menu we now have the new listing management tools we’ve been asking for ever since the ‘All’ search tool went live - the status of all items is clearly shown and not only is it easy to find an item, it can then be relisted, hidden, deleted or copied as well as edited. THANK YOU @dougfolksy and whoever else has worked their socks off to bring us this! It’s going to save me so much time and scrolling. I have struggled with listing management ever since joining Folksy and it’s so great to know the struggle is over! Maybe now I won’t end up accidentally renewing sold-out items either. I’m very happy, would love to know what other sellers think!

Well when I just looked at it, I clicked on ‘Sold’ comes up with ‘No Results found’ when there are sold ones when you click on ‘All’

@linthamdesigns

I suspect that once the listing expires then it moves into the expired catagory.

Thanks for your thoughts, if that’s correct, it’s not much help if you want to relist something that’s either the same or very similar. I just had another look and it’s different again, the ‘Live’ is only showing 40 items out of my 80 listings, the ‘All’ is showing 60 items of my 80 litings. Looks like this really has been tested .

I think it works the same way as the old categories, where sold listings move to ‘expired’ when they expire - the difference is that now they’re searchable and once you find the right listing you can copy or relist it right from the search results :slightly_smiling_face:

My ‘sold’ items only brings up one page, a few days ago it had quite a few pages showing (they havn’t all just expired) so perhaps this has been changed again and they now go into the expired as suggested, it would be better to have all the sold items together under the sold category to save going through all those that have been hidden and expired as well.

I Definitely like it though, it will be much easier than trudging through pages and pages on the previously sold orders to find an old listing.

Haven’t used it yet but I love anything that makes life easier.

It’s super helpful, but I’ve done some playing around and found a few things that mean the search parameters may need tweaking to be more flexible. Essentially, although it can pick up words from anywhere in the title, thay must be in the exact order and next to each other, and you must include things like hypens if you’ve used them. Unfortunately, I try and vary my titles  , and don’t recall the exact names of each one.

Detailed results - I’ll send these the Folksy admin by email in the hope they can improve it, but thought others may find it helpful to understand what is working right now.

I have a listing called Bunting - Dragons and Dinosaurs - reversible fabric nursery decor. It comes up in a search for Bunting - but I have so many it can be hard to quickly find, so I need to narrow it down.

So I searched for Dragon bunting - zero results. Same with Dragons Bunting, and Dinosaurs Bunting.

It did come up when I typed in the exact title, so the search is capable of finding a single item. It also came up when I typed Bunting - Dragons. So it seems it needs me to put in the hyphen in. But it failed when I searched for Dragons - Bunting, so it also needs the right word order.

It works for Bunting - dragon so it was ok with me leaving the s off. But this isn’t about singular or plurals, it’s because it was the last letter in the search term - it wouldn’t accept Buntings, or typos or missing letters elsewhere in the search. It does seem ok with interchanging capitals and lower case.

It worked for nursery decor - so it’s picking up words from the middle of the search, but again they must be in the right order and next to each other. It didn’t find the listing for reversible nursery decor, but it did find it when I added in the missing word fabric.

I changed the listing to remove the hyphens, and had the same results.

How about if you do a wildcard search? These seem to work in Folksy’s regular search. So if you type “drago*” (without the quotes!), what comes up then?

Great suggestion, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. I will remember wildcards for main site search though. I did put drago* in without the quote marks, the no results message includes them by default.

Just copied and relisted a bunch of things and haven’t encountered any problems at all (except when I forget that ‘sold’ is only for things that haven’t expired yet, but that’s the same as it ever was). I found everything I needed lightning-fast and then I can just copy the listing and bam, there it is in my Drafts waiting to be edited and listed. This is saving me SO MUCH TIME (and frustration) :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@LooneySpoons We’re glad to hear you find it more useful now! (even if it did take a while for us to add those extra features  )

Yes, it currently still works as the other listings page does, with items moving to the expired section once they reach their expiry date (but they do at least show whether they were originally sold or hidden once they’re in there, instead of expired). We were hoping to change this, as we know it can confuse sellers, but it’ll take some more work to switch the logic (and we need to make sure it doesn’t mess anything else up).

@TheOldButton The search is a bit limited as technically it’s a filter rather than a search, so it filters the listing titles by what you enter. This means it you search a single word, it should bring up any listings that contain that word in the title, but if you’re searching multiple words, it’s a lot more fussy about getting an exact match. Searching just ‘dragon’ should bring up your listing though and hopefully has less results than ‘bunting’ (and ‘drago’ will also work without the *),

We’ll see if we can make that a bit more flexible though.

Thanks so much Kim @kimfolksy, appreciate the explaination. I’ve also heard back from admin team, and they have passed my example on - hopefully it will help with any future tweaks.

Yes search with a single word does find the item. It’s just I have almost 250 listings, many with similar words in them :face_with_peeking_eye:. For example a search for “stocking” pulls up over 25 listings, and on a small screen it’s hard to find the right one. I was hoping to narrow that down.

I can work with it though - I’ll play with any words I think apply to a listing. It is easier than scrolling through all the pages on the other listing management tool. Don’t get rid of that one though, it’s useful for other things

A final plea for things to add to the site improvement list - can we please have a way to bulk edit dispatch times. I try and offer expediated shipping nearer to Xmas to benefit from those last minute shoppers. I can easily bulk change postage to next day delivery, but it takes ages to manually alter the dispatch times. And I invariably miss some when I go back to my normal 2-3 days. It would also be really helpful when I need to extend delivery times at busy times or long weekends away. I know we can put the shop in holiday mode, but that means no-one can buy, even if they would be happy waiting an extra day or so.

Do we still have the ‘drag and drop’ and ‘move to top’ functions to rearrange listings in the shopfront? I can’t find it now.

Under shopkeeping?

Yes, I’ve just used it.

Brilliant, thank you!

Better and better… now when you find and copy a listing the draft copy shows up on the same page so you don’t have to click on ‘Draft’ and find it all over again. Brilliant.
