I am sure by now many of you know I am an artist …
If not then … Hello I’m Hazel and I paint Art In Wax
People sometimes say Art is a very personal thing, this can be the case… but recently I have sold several pieces which when in conversation with the buyer, they have told me this was for a gift, which is great
For many years I have been promoting “Art as a Gift” I personally think it makes a wonderful gift for many occasions, and there is such a lot of choice out there from larger wall art to the smaller pieces framed or unframed that look great on a shelf or displayed with a mini easel maybe … and the variety of subject and mediums … well the list is endless
Folksy has some amazing art and artist so why not think “Art” next time you are considering buying someone a gift … or just treating yourself naturally
I would love there to be a marketing campaign along the lines of Chuck out your Chintz - but this time being Chuck out your old Pics…
When people are wanting to redecorate, I think a room can be transformed by buying a new picture just as much as it can be by giving it a coat of paint. Yet I know many people that seem reluctant to part with pictures (even if they have said they don’t really like them!!)
Or maybe, ‘Upgrade to Handmade’, encouraging people to chuck out mass produced stuff in favour of replacing it with handmade. And that potentially benefits everybody!
I think you are spot on !!! Having a piece of original art or handmade unique accessories can be a make over in itself
My husband is a professional decorator and once he had finished a room mostly the clients put back the same things … I personally love unique things, and yet I understand about having favourite things, I have a print in our bedroom that I bought 20 years ago and I still love it
I have loads of new prints I can add here soon once I get them cut and photographed.
In the meantime I have my Greetings Cards that feature my artwork:
