I’m relatively new to Folksy and only have a few paintings in my shop. I am after some advice on products as I have been thinking of getting my paintings printed onto chopping boards, bags, mugs etc. Do any of you think this would be a good idea?
Welcome to folksy and the forums,
I’m not sure about chopping boards - wouldn’t the design get damaged as the board is used? But I can see things like greetings cards, tote bags and mugs proving popular especially if you can get them done and start promoting them before christmas shopping begins.

The chopping boards are glass and the print is on the underneath so shouldn’t get damaged. Not sure how well they would wash though. I’ve got some cards so must get them on here and I think I will look into the costs of getting some different stuff done.
I doubt anyone would buy a chopping board they couldn’t wash properly as it would be used to prepare food.
The ones I’ve seen have the painting in the glass itself
There are glass paints available for painting on glass that don’t wash off once the item has been fired I use them for painting on glass and china items that are going to be used for food.
That’s a great help. I agree a chopping board will need to be able to be washed thoroughly but what I meant was I wasn’t sure if the print on the back would wash off over time. I’ll need to look into that a little more.
I’ve never painted onto glass but might be something worth looking into.
Cheers Liz, I do have some prints of some paintings I’ve already sold. Will get these mounted and on here. Another job to ad to the weekend todo list lol.
I thought the same so got one done for myself. I thought it would work out to expensive for people to buy so didn’t do anymore. Must have another look around at printers and see if I can get some done at the right price. Do you think people would mind if the came in a Vistaprint box or similar?
Well I’ve gone and done it eeeck. I’ve ordered some mugs, a chopping board and a shoulder bag all showing my Rudbeckia. Now need to work out prices, take photos, put them on here and fingers crossed I get some buyers.
