Themes for after Christmas - what do you plan to make?

Hi All - I’m just pondering what creations to make after Christmas. Do you have themes? How do you plan what you are going to make?

Thanks,

Catherine :cat2:

With cards it’s fairly easy, after Christmas it’s Valentines Day then Mother’s Day & Easter (already started cutting out stuff for Valentines day)

Ditto for the themes. Valentines day themed creatures with Easter. Stocking on totems for Chinese New Year.

I’ll have some seasonal themes for the middle of 2017 too.

Overhauling the photos and stock lines in my shop to get it in tip top shape before applying for a very prestigious local christmas market (yes you apply in January for an event in mid Nov!). Then I want to expand upon my ‘frame’ series which has been proving popular.

I’m tired of re-making best sellers. I thought I might go back to some of my early designs- I have an armadillo brooch in mind!

Themes such as Christmas, Easter and Valentines don’t seem to work well for me so I tend to avoid them now. I know what you mean about best sellers Christine @coatimundi - i’m getting a little bored of poppies!! I am doing the local arts trail in May so have got to focus on that and come up with a few things that are “a bit different” and I would like to have a couple of themes running there - maybe based on colours but I’m still pondering.

Hopefully I would like to make more vintage style cards and notebooks with lace and pearls etc Dawn

As it’s cold after Christmas and people find they have Christmas gift monies and no warm knits I’m planning on restocking on knitted and crochet hats, scarves and gloves.

I will also finish up some Valentine hearts and make some Valentine cards.

I’ve also realized I’ve sold all my hot water bottle covers so I’m knitting some of those now.

It will be valentine gifts here, lots of pretty glass trinket bowls.

No theme for me, but I hope to be making a fox! Since I started working full time my crafting time is now pretty limited, so I’m planning to do larger pieces that stretch me creatively. I’m quite looking forward to the challenge!

I’m going to be making some of my novelty baskets ready for Mother’s Day, Easter and not to forget St Patrick’s day. I have a perfect fabric for that one.

Well, my planning is already bearing fruit, though slightly backwards!

I have Xmas2017 covered! Only one or two seasonal pieces to go before that is ticked off.

Easter is being worked on now with Valentines themed ideas to come.

In the New Year I am going to clear a few things out of my shop that have been there for a while and make more new stock. I have bought lots of new ceramic charms and can’t wait to get making but have not had time in the run up to Christmas.

No specific themes for me, just a very long to do list, which includes the dreaded tax return and social media - two of my favourite things :fearful:

Ahhh, the dreaded tax return!
I did mine last week after the annual forgetting login details, losing login details and applying for a new one.
And then the new one eventually comes through snail mail, only for me to mistype it three times and be unceremoniously locked out for two hours, by which time I’ve lost momentum
