Hello everyone!
I am new to Folksy and made my first sale yesterday (OK it was to my mum and dad but at least it is a start!). I draw and paint and make things out of leather and wood. I plan to donate a percentage of my profits to charity in memory of my three year old son Wilfred who died of cancer last year.
I am really looking forward to being part of this community and getting to know people better. There are so many amazingly creative people on here and it is very scary and overwhelming (but also exciting) getting started. By the way, does anyone else hate doing the photos for their shop? It took me AGES!

Hello
Just a little about myself and why I joined Folksy.
I was taught to knit by my Mum and Grandmother when I was about 5 years old. My first major project was a round neck jumper knitted in pillar box red double knitting wool for my knitting badge at Brownies. I used to go to the wool shop every week to buy an ounce of wool to complete my jumper.
I have always had a great passion for knitting and find it a relaxing and enjoyable pastime.
I have knitted all sorts of things from picture jumpers to baby garments when my children were small. I do particularly like knitting baby gifts and presents as most of my family and friends will tell you.
I decided to join Folksy as part of my preparation for retirement that will allow me to enjoy my hobby and hopefully generate some income to top up my pension.
I hope you like what you see. Please have a browse and contact me via Folksy not only for orders although that would be good but also with comments both good and bad so I can understand what customers want to buy.
I look forward to hearing from you all.
Hi to all crafters and creatives , My name is Julie but Nootie is a name often used , I have been sewing and creating all my life it’s like breathing , what I haven’t been doing is anything techy , so all this computer stuff is very scary , I have no clue so I can only say I will perhaps with a bit of help learn as I go along . My first attempt at posting was left unfinished , I realised having two solitary Christmas stockings in my ‘shop’ was not going to generate much if any interest so thank you for the someone who pressed the like button, like all things in life stuff happens and unfortunately it did , in brief I had a heart attack , so it’s taken up to now to get on with things, My aim is to add to my shop within the next few weeks with what I already have and hopefully some new additions .
All I can add is stay safe and happy crafting
We are Handmade by Lizzie and we make natural soaps and lotions, along with hand poured soy wax candles.
Hello everyone! I’m Jen and have slowly been adding a few hand embroidered pieces to my shop over the past month. I know it can take a few months for people to get the ball rolling so I’m sat on my sofa, furloughed, and patiently (or not so) waiting for that first sale
so excited to be part of this community!
Hi
I’m Stephanie and I spin yarn and dye embroidery silks. I’ve had my shop on Folksy for a very little while and have been lurking in the forums but decided to come and join in at last.
Looking forward to getting to know people here
Hi, I’m Kath and I have a small 80 acre farm in Suffolk. We now grow crops for wildlife (wild flower meadows and winter bird food) and have a small flock of Shetland sheep and a herd of alpacas. Our animals provide us with pure wool and fibre which we then process into yarn. My husband is the weaver (although I occassionally get a turn) and I crochet. My mother in law taught me to crochet about 10 years ago and it has become a bit of an addiction. Neel has been weaving for just over a year on a rigid heddle loom and four shaft floor loom. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone - and our first sale!!
I am fairly new here.
I am Jane from Leeds
I am disabled (double amputee)
I raise money for Steel Bones charity.
I mostly sell on etsy nice to meet you all
I sell handmade cards and printed cards.
Hi All - I am Anne and my husband is Alan. We have been crafters for many years Alan for over 25 as a woodturner and myself for around 10 years as a basketmaker. Slowly we have started to work at the same shows and just generally more closely together, so we decided to open a shop together on Folksy - as recommended by another of our regular show traders. So, Alan Thomas Woodturning and Wicca Work Basketry have come together and we are now Cornish Craftwork. It’s proving to be immense fun re-imagining our separate businesses as one entity. We are taking the process of setting up shop and our listings slowly so you won’t see any listings yet - but we are nearly there. Just one or two things to tweak and then we shall see how things go. Really looking forward to getting to know other crafters and traders.
Anne

Hello! My name is Linda and I am moving over here from Etsy. I just have a need for a more community based and friendly selling area for my things.
I crochet and have done for too many years!
I want to try and make my own little business as over the last few months have had a ridiculous amount of ill health (nearly better as I can be now) and wanted to do something creative whilst I am trying to find other suitable work.
I look forward to participating in the forums and meeting other creators.

Welcome Linda!
