Children as that is what we all are children of our parents.

I’m in my 50’s as are my 2 brothers but we are still our mother’s children. She calls us her children or my Eileen or our insert brothers name when she’s referring to us with friends. She even refers to my best friend and my brothers old friends as her ‘other’ children which they love as their mothers have all died and she’s the only one left now.

So she’ll say something along the lines of , " How’s my other favourite daughter doing to day, are you coming by for a cuppa and a chat".

She had some strange looks in town when she’s been picked up by my one of my brother’s mates and she hugs them and says “How’s my other son today” as he’s Black and she’s an elderly white lady who you can tell is Italian…

All her ‘other’ children now have kids and they call her Grandma Joyce.

She’s enjoying the life of Riley now as every week she’s been taken out by one of her ‘other’ Children for a day out or for lunch or to see a play, go to a birthday party or something. They get to see more of her than I or my brother does as I live down in Surrey and my brother lives in the Netherlands.

My grandchildren (step) call my mum “extra granny” even addressing her as such on cards and to her face :grinning:

WE call ours The KIds

We still call ours the kids even though our daughter is 22 (our son is 15 so still qualifies as a kid) when my Dad was alive he still referred to me & my sisters as ‘the girls’ when talking to anyone (we were in our late 30’s and 40’s when he died)

My sons are 31 and 28 I refer to them as ‘my boys’ or ‘sons’ they are 'adult children’
My Mum introduces me to her friends as ‘her youngest daughter’ I’m 57 i love it when she says that!
