Would anyone like to give me some shop feedback?

Hi! Am new to Folksy, yet to get my first sale although I do seem to be getting quite a lot of impressions/views.
I’m currently offering ‘free delivery’ am wondering if I’d be better reducing the cost of my items and charging for postage?
Any feedback on my shop would be very gratefully received.
Thank you!
Xx

Welcome Amy.

The first thing is fill out your about section. People buy from people and as online this tells them about you.

Materials you have put fabric, try putting what the fabric is ie cotton, ric rac, ribbon.

Try close ups of the embroidery and make sure all images are clear.

Postage? That is hard I charge separate with additional 50p for every added item. I also always refund if postage is cheaper. If you look at it fro. The customers point of view they know that postage is not free but included in the price. Fine if buying one item but if multiples they could be paying 3 or 4 times over what it costs. Plus you don’t pay Folksy comm on your separate postage but you would if combined. Up to you but worth thinking about

Do you post to Instagram, Facebook, groups on fab etc. I normally promote every day plus add videos of my life and stories occasionally. Again makes you human.

Just noticed you use the same worn collar in other items for sale. You need to have the collar you are selling shown as worn.

Took me about 3 months for my first sale that was my fault as did not join the forums or use sm. Good Luck.

Thank so much for taking the time…I really appreciate it!
Ahh I keep filling out the ‘about me’ section but it keeps disappearing…I think because I’m try to do it on my phonex I’ll give it a go on a laptop.
Great point about adding different materials thanks, and I’ll have a bit more of a think about the postage situation.
Thanks again.b

Sorry just to add I do have an Instagram, but I need to post more often, vary content etc, I’m pretty introverted so it doesn’t come naturally :joy:

I can relate to that Amy but once you get into it becomes easier. Did a video the other week with my voice, terrified, stumbled a bit but got there. Just pretend not you as I find it easier promoting someone else than myself.

The link you’ve got in your folksy shop to your instagram doesn’t work so you need to have a look at that.
As for included/ free postage - Folksy don’t charge their commission on postage so by including it in the item price you are paying more. But that said research has shown that at lower price points customers prefer included shipping (there is an article on the folksy blog about it) so I’m not sure there is a correct answer to that question.
My feed back on your shop is to make your descriptions more unique - you have the same descriptions for the same item on both Etsy and Folksy and the descriptions for the different eg pairs of earrings on Folksy are nearly identical (the only difference I can spot is the description of the fabric in the 3rd para the rest is the same). This is a major issue if you want to get found via google/ other external search engines, where the search algorithms see duplicate content they assume that the later pages are spam and don’t show them in the results. The algorithms tend to put greater priority on the first two paragraphs so you need to make sure your opening sentence says what the item is and then pack all the key info into the first couple of paras (so your sentence about loving colour and fabric needs to be shifted from the opening line to further down the description). There is more info about this on the folksy blog as well.
Finally for the collars you give a width of 10.5cm - I’ve guessing that’s the width of the collar rather than a sizing. I’d want to know the smallest and largest neck size that it will fit - equivalent to a necklace length I guess.
Good luck

Thanks so much Sasha. That’s all so helpful. I have a lot to learn! Will definitely start by making my descriptions a bit more unique.
