I’m so so tempted by lots of vintage embroidered linens on ebay. There’s so much lovely stuff to use on my dinning table and to cut up and make into things for my shop.
I’ve just had one load arrive this morning and it’s all so pretty.
Anyone else feel like going mad and buying bulk loads of pretties
I have been a little overindulgent in the glass shopping area myself this last couple of weeks…think it’s called beat the January Blues so I’m going to be no help to you at all xxx
Eileen, would you like me to persuade my hubby to change your passwords on something, he’s good at that !
Have to say he is also very good at restoring order as well !
If the linens are a good price…AND you have a plan for them…

I get tempted by lots of stones and beads but since I buy a lot of them from the cutting houses in India I keep the order amount under £15 so that I don’t have to pay the royal mail/ customs charges which caps how much I can buy in one go (and the shipping is normally only ~£2). Thankfully I’m currently finalising the details of a commission which will a) use up a few of the pretties that caught my eye over christmas and b) pay for the next lot…
Oh, Eileen, if you do buy more, can you photo them and put them on the ‘What are you working on thread’ , then we can all have a look at your fabulous finds? Love to see what others are thinking??!!

I think you should buy everything and have an Big Splurge, I’m afraid asking these questions publicly will always see those who cant move in their craft areas encouraging others to become just as bad
I thought of lots of problems when starting up my business but one I didn’t see was how much I end up buying of the sites I list on as I see so many beautiful things!
I’m in the mood to spend and heres my justification. So far this year my craft business has made a small profit and as I am already above my tax allowance with my other job I will be paying tax on that profit. Next year however I am planning to cut down on my “other” work so may have some allowance left over. Therefore if I bulk buy now I won’t be paying tax on my profits…well it makes sense to me.
Makes perfect sense to me, I did a similar thing a couple of years back - now is the time to buy all those new tools and materials that you ‘need’ and spend those taxable profits.
I’m fabric crazy and can’t stop buying fabric and haberdashery to make things for my shop. I need someone to guide me away when I pass a fabric shop because, try as I might, I always end up going through the door and buying yet more fabric
I’m always tempted by buying fabric - ALL the time! I buy so much that I can’t possibly make enough to use it up. I’m trying really hard to be strict with myself at the moment and force myself to use up some of my stash before I’m allowed to buy anything new. I’m already wavering though. I had a sale last night and found myself thinking I could pop in to one of my favourite fabric shops at the same time as going to the post office. Naughty!!
