Hi i have only been on Folksy for 3 months and the most shop visits i have had is 20 and so far have not sold any of my paintings i do the best i can to promote but not tech minded, maybe not good enough
Thank you so much for this! The problem for me is that working in detail I see all the errors and my sight loss makes it difficult for me to see the bigger picture. People tell me they are good but then friends and family can be biased!
There is no chance I can give up! I just love it, even if I am 86!

I wouldn’t take them as gospel but I’ve been monitoring them regularly and I feel they’re about right. It’s impossible to make a really meaningful comparison but I just thought it was interesting!
James, I don’t think it’s your lovely paintings, I had a quick look and your titles and tags are mostly single words and very general, they won’t help you be found in a search. Think like a buyer, what would you type in the search bar if you were looking for a painting of a landscape scene? It probably wouldn’t be ‘Appletreewick’… Maybe try to make your listing titles more descriptive of what is in the picture, if you see what I mean? And make the tags more specific to the actual painting?
ETA: this post about how the tags work might be useful, I’ve just re-read it and realised I still have a lot of improvements to make to mine! Brand new tag pages!

I had 3 sales here last month and one last night. All with very little promotion. That’s a big jump from what I have been getting so something must be happening for us to get found more.

Just checked my stats and have now plummeted. No sales since the 1st Dec exact opposite. Think that could be it for this year now.

Yes, the views seem to have dropped off in the last week or so, and I would have expected them to go up at the end of November/early December.
Yep, same here. Views dropping by the day for the last few weeks, and I also would have expected them to be rising though November and December.

Hi! Well you aren’t going to believe this but I am actually glad I don’t have sales rolling out of the shop door. My husband’s health has been getting worse all year. He has been to the Gp, lots of tests done. His breathing has got worse and worse. He has COPPD. Went to private consultant, lots of tests done. Saturday he dialled 999. He can barely stand or walk. Paramedics spent two hours with him. Then they took him to hospital. On Saturday evening he finally got the diagnosis! Blood clots in both lungs! They have injected them to disperse the bliooo. As I am severely sight impaired I have lost my mobility! But of course family, friends and neighbours are all rallying round. In the new year I will get to grips with SM and get the ball rolling! T was restricting oxygen flow to his kidneys, which are also infected

My shop and item views have been picking up again this past week although they’re still not as high as they were during the Craftmas promotion. I’m hopeful that this weekend’s promotion will bring a few last-minuters in… then I’ll be shut for a couple of weeks and start again in January!

My shop visits have been the lowest since Ive been keeping track, but maybe my items arent very giftable or Christmasy
Although I have made one sale this month which has been purchased as a gift.
