Hi Everyone - I have recently opened a Folksy Shop (May 22) and in the last month had approximately 360 views with no sales (other than to family members which is 4). How do these figures compare? Any ideas/feedback to my shop is gratefully received. Am I expecting too much too soon?
Hi ya,
I’ve been on Folksy since August 2019, my views for the last 30 days were 420 & 0 sales! It’s slow out there at the moment I think. Your shop looks lovely, are you on any social media sites (FB or IG)? You do need to do some work to sell yourself as Folksy doesn’t have the sort of advertising budget the bigger sites have & I have noticed I get better views when I’m more active on social media but I do understand it’s hard to keep up, I’ve been particularly slack lately and I think it’s showing
Good luck and don’t get disheartened too early,
Cheers Lou
Hi Lou
Thanks for the feedback. I am Ok with FB but IG is a bit more of a new venture for me (must be my age
I certainly do get more views when more active on both social media and the shop. Your words of encouragement are much appreciated - I will continue to make this a success. Good luck to you, too.
This is interesting, I look at my stats every day but have never thought about them on a monthly basis. Mine for the last month are 1225 and I sold 13 items. I’ve been here 12 years in December.
@noticeableknots I think your shop looks lovely Tracey, I wish I could produce such nice photos. I like your key rings very much. I think you need to add social media links, join in with the forums and as many FB and IG pages as you can. Best of luck xxx
Hi
Thank you . It does seem to be about social media which goes in waves with me! Lol.
Wow! That is a lot of views, well done. I just want to have a purpose to keep making these creations as I really enjoy doing them and it keeps me sane!
Thanks again
Checked mine, do do this quite regularly.
Last 30 days:
3550 views
48576 impressions
5 sales.
I always check mine each morning and I never look at the monthly viewings but I just had a look and I had 4085 last month and sold 40 items. Actually that’s more interesting than checking them daily.
Don’t get disheartened.
My stats for 30 days
43 views
2046 impressions
1 sale.
Best of luck to you x
Hi Noticeable knots - what a lovely shop you have, I’m sure you will soon have more sales.
I opened my shop in February and only have one sale - my stats are as follows:-
398 views 16436 impressions and 29 people favorited items but no sales.
Everyone seems to say the key to Folksy is social media - you need to generate sales yourself. It is an attractive showcase and a super friendly place to learn and grow business but sales are slow at the moment. Folksy is much smaller than Etsy and more artist/craftsman focused which I think is important to some customers and you possibly have more chance of your work being seen by buyers. I’m hoping sales will pick up towards Christmas. Good luck for future sales.
I’ve just favourited your shop - your work is beautiful! - social media is the answer. Get posting so that people can see your beautiful work. x
Thank you so much - this is appreciated. Social media it is! My daughters (twins aged 30) say Instagram is the way forward - I am gradually getting the hang of that as I am a FB generation x
Thank you to all - great advice here but most of all, encouragement
Hi Tracey your work is lovely. If you link your FB and IG accounts you can post from the meta business suite on FB, tailor the content to each platform, and schedule posts.
Hello
I have been with folksy January time ish no sales as yet, but I do think it is really slow at the moment. I have had plenty of views although I suspect some of them might be mine. If some of your work fits theme of the day that increases views.
Your shop looks wonderful and they are really well photographed. I don’t think you will have to wait too long for sales.
Social media helps with views. I am on Instagram but need to get round to sorting out a FB page.
Oh, what gorgeous work O.P. Sorry you’re not getting many views / sales it seems this is the way of the world at the moment. Your work is beautiful tho!!!
With no social media for this shop for months (been promoting the other side) my 30 day stats are:
Views 365
Impressions 9666
Sales 0
Just starting to promote my Folksy shop again so will be interesting to see how/if this changes.
I have been here a few years now but this is the quietest I’ve known it. Due to other commitmenrts and a family bereavement, I haven’t promoted much on social media this year. I believe this to be the prime reason for my own personal sales hiatus.
Interestingly, I have resurrected my shop on “the other side” that has been in holiday mode for two years. I have promoted it as I restocked, In comparing figures, I’m still getting more views and visits here than I am on the other side, which has been the target of my SM promotion.
Last 30 days: E**y: 248 views, 181 visits, 0 sales.
Folksy: 1279 views, 383 visits, 0 sales.
This reflects my previous experience that I’m too small a fish in too big a sea on the other side. The Folksy figures show I get more Google and Facebook visits, the other side suggests I am more likely to be visited there from Twitter.
I will keep an eye on both sets of figures to see what happens.
