Billing enquiry

Good morning, new member here, I made a sale a few weeks ago and I still haven’t been billed for the commission. When do you pay it to folksy please?
Thank you Lisa

Hi Lisa, you’ll only recieve a bill when you owe £2 or more

Commission for sales paid via Stripe are already paid, deducted at the time of sale. You only get billed for PayPal paid sales. If applicable you will get a bill 1st of the month.
You should be able to see your ‘bill’ on your dashboard.
You won’t get billed even for that yet though until your bill gets to £2 as said above.

Really? My current bill is 86p had one for 36p before which I had to pay. Two sales in 2 months. Yet I have over 6000 sales on another unmentionable site. Not impressed.

You may have unbilled fees of 86p on your account (what shows on the dashboard under ‘Folksy balance’), but you won’t be sent a bill to pay that amount until it reaches £2.

Sometimes it can look like there’s been a bill for a smaller amount sent if you’re looking through past bills, but if you click on the details they should show that there were only Stripe sales listed for that month (where the fees are automatically taken at the time of payment, not added to your bill). You should never get a request to send a bill payment under £2.

I just had a quick look at some of your items and they had fairly short titles and few tags, which might make it harder for them to be found, and they didn’t mention the size of the earrings, which buyers might want to know before purchasing.
It might be good to read this blog post about how Folksy search works as some tweaks to the listings might help them get more views and hopefully sales - How to write a listing that gets found in search results

Thanks Lisa. I’m New and didn’t want to mess up my shop by not paying.
