Business card question?

(Gracie22) #1

Hi , I don’t have any business cards at the moment and as im only starting out trying to get free ones.
Do they have to have Folksy logo? I seen you can get the Folksy business cards free but then they charge postage, plus do I have to design my own background for the business card as im not great at digital stuff

Try first, Gracie - they are nice quality and a good deal. My first batch were free. It’s a mixture of your design and the standard - but they look pretty good!

The other good place to try is vistaprint. They both lead you through the design process anyway.

btw - sent you a message regarding your little baby shoe; check your email

If you get the free ones through Moo then they do have the folksy logo on them … so choose colours that will go with it. If you’re not getting the freebies then they don’t have to have a logo on them.

It’s quite easy to design the Moo ones. You can use your own photos if you don’t want to make a design specifically for your business card. You just upload them during the design process. Moo also have lots of great looking templates that you can use instead.

aaah thanks a million MsCupcake, I don’t have a facebook page (I had to come off facebook found it very depressing) Will check my email, would I send the link to you? Is that allowed?

hi Melanie, thanks for the recommending Moo, will check them out, will Moo design ones for you as im not a great at digi

moo freebies are really expensive as the postage is huge - and you don’t get many cards.
They are very lovely though, and you get to use images of your work.

with Vista freebies you get a lot more for less postage.

It is not very difficult to print your own off , you can get quite a lot off an A4 sheet of card.

I have mine done in Staples, they are not the cheapest but are good quality. If you have the design take it in with you and they can print them in about 30 mins or they have templates to choose from. They also store the details on computer and any time I go back they can pull them up and print me off another batch.

Yep, they have lots of templates which means all you have to do is type in your details.

Gracie, I posted your link. It may not have got lot of views on that fb page so I have shared it on my page now as well. (There’s no guarantee lots of people will see it there either, of course! LOL)

( in case you can follow it)

thanks Deborah, I might look into printing off some digi ones that are pre-made, that probably would be a better idea  thank you

Gracie I keep a Folksy Logo in my files as I put it on my postage stickers. If you e-mail me I’ll send it to you as a jpeg file.xx

(Gracie22) #13

oh that’s fab, thank you sooooo much Maggie  how do i get your email? will I message you? xx

I used Vistaprint on my cards and they were superb. I did however add my own artwork, have design each side of the card and a glossy finish all of which came at an extra cost but having said that, they came to about 53.00 and I think I got a free holder and about 2,500 in total…

hi Maggie

just messaged you with my email

thanks again

I had my business cards from vistaprint. Had them printed front and back with pearlescent effect. Turned out fab to be fair. X

(Shirley Woosey) #17

I use Vistaprint too. You can design your own and upload your own artwork.
They work out quite reasonable.
I have my shop banner on it and a photograph of one of my book covers.
Some text including my Folksy and Darkside web addresses and my name and email address.
Also the shop name and thank you on the reverse.

I got 1,500 for £58 inc standard shipping. They arrived much sooner than they said, in less than a week.

Much better value really than Moo Cards, which work out expensive to ship and you don’t get many.
