Can you download our images on Foiksy
Hi Geraldine and welcome. I’m not quite sure what you’re asking here - it is certainly possible for anyone to save your listing images, they save as .avif files. If you’re wanting to bulk import listings from another platform (such as Etsy) into your Folksy shop there is a way to do that, you need to contact Folksy Support and they can set it up for you. I don’t think it’s possible to sell instant downloads on Folksy, I think if you want to sell a file such as a tutorial or a printable you need to email it to the customer once purchased.
If you can go into more detail as to exactly what you’re trying to do, I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will be along to give you more information. Or you can contact Folksy Support, they are real live human beings and very helpful!
welcome Geraldine…I don’t understand your question either…sorry.
However, I think it important that you remove your email and phone numbers from your shop front…I don’t think that is a very wise or safe thing to do. If people want to contact you, they can contact you through the contact button on your shop page x
I think you mean download via a right hand mouse click and yes you can But if you do it on a laptop you will end up with a display.avif file and will need a converter to be able to use it. From my phone they are fine and download as display.jpeg from my android phone… I sometimes use my screen snipping software on my laptop as that is quicker than downloading as .avif and then having to convert to a useable .jpg.
I have load vintage images on esty downloads I need to do this Folksy ( https://preciouspostcards.etsy.com )
Ah, I think you mean, can you sell an item delivered as a download. The answer is no. You have to mail the item as a pdf or whatever, once the buyer has paid.
Have a look at how this seller writes their listing: PDF Hand Embroidery Pattern, Good Vibes Only Em... - Folksy
thank you for your help
But do please be aware that Folksy is for handmade items only. Not sure if yours as vintage postcards would qualify for that.
Joy has a good point - the rules on what you can and can’t sell on Folksy are a bit different from Etsy. There’s a helpful guide here
https://folksy.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/54524-what-can-i-sell-on-folksy
and if you’re not sure, contact Folksy Support and ask them before you add your listings. (Folksy Support is a bit different from Etsy too - it actually works!)
you can get around the avi file issue by taking a screenshot.
Afternoon Joy,
Completely unrelated to this thread but thank you for the info - maybe this is why when I download photos from Folksy on my iPhone they don’t work properly!
Cheers Lou
Could well be. I don’t know what type they download as on Iphone. I have android and that kindly lets me have them the way i want/need them… as .jpg :).
The .avif on my laptop is a right pain !
