Hiya. I’m trying to do a Folksy Friday. Got all my photos.
But all of them turn out like this when I copy off Folksy. Doesn’t happen anywhere else. .
What am I doing wrong?
I always pin the items i want to use to my folksy fri board. Then I go to that board and save them to my computer. It’s a bit if a faff but I can’t get them to save else due to the format they use. I can’t copy the images from Folksy. Might be worth a try x
So it’s not just me. That’s a relief. I screenshot them in the end and cropped. @kernowclaire
I can save them to my computer desktop as .avif files but nothing I have on the computer will open them. However, I can upload them to my Canva account and they look fine on there! Then I just use Canva to make collages for Folksy Friday. There are some good Canva tutorials on the Folksy blog…
Pixillion will convert but it’s a bit of a faff as you have to keep confirming your free usage
Think I will just screenshot them. Easier. Thanks tho.
I wonder if it is the collage you have used as the images on Folksy are square but tech isn’t my thing.
I choose a listing on Folksy, click on the first image of that listing then choose “download image” from thd choices. These go into google photos on my tablet under downloads then i make the collage from there, i use Adobe Express (free version) as Google have now limited my collage’s to 6 images.
I need to rethink what I’m doing. Must be me. I’m not that techy. I use my phone for photos. Not used a camera for ages.
Hi, @Amberlilly Are you using an iPhone?
I am not very good at explaining, and I confess I have not done a folksy Friday board in a good while (am planning on getting back on that soon), but if you go on the FF promotion thread one, scroll way back you will find ones I did, and I just used my iPhone phone and free Canva.
If you are…
Once you choose your theme, and are on the folksy shop you want the picture/item from, on the picture just hold/press lightly on it and it will pop
up save to pictures, which you do/click on, then you will have it saved in your photos. (I always noted the item, who the lovely maker is and their social media links at that point too).
You then do that on all or how many you want to showcase on your grid and then go onto Canva (to get Canva just download the free app) and then you can choose a grid, click on to highlight the square/shape, then to change the picture click on replace at the bottom left, and it should come up with camera roll, uploads, pictures, videos at the bottom, click on camera roll and your pictures will come up, and with the added ones that you’ve saved chosen from the Folksy shops that you want to use. Once you’ve filled your grid press download and it is saved to your photos to use. It took me a while to get to grips with Canva but if you play around with it you’ll find it’s brilliant!
Hope this helpful or even just a little bit understandable! Apologies too if you don’t have an iPhone as it will be useless
or you know this already!
