Hedd and I were reminded of manually opening train windows yesterday. She pushed the electric button to open it when we arrived in York - it took some time! I commented it was still quicker than pulling windows down by hand and putting our arms out to turn the handle - and she clearly remembered doing that. She’s 26, so it wasn’t eons ago.
It’s a lovely morning here. We’re off out to lunch with some long-lost family on my dad’s side. We rediscovered them a couple of years ago!
Another bowl cover today, this time for a big mixing bowl.
Thank you @dotterypottery Glad my paintings bring back good memories. x
faved to here…
Congratulations to your daughter and her partner Sue @SueTrevor, start saving now!
What lovely news about your daughter @SueTrevor you must be delighted.
Loving the old car stories. Years ago we had an old Peugeot. It needed a clothes peg to keep the choke out (remeber thhose?), and when I worked nights at our local hospital, if it was cold I had to lift the bonnet and pop a blanket over the engine or it wouldn’t start in the morning. Funny thing was it was nicked one night from the hospital carpark but was found in Oxford. I was actually very fond of that car.
Anyway, have used up some small remnants and old zips to make a collection of purses
Oh Gosh what lovely stories! Love the idea of the passenger as a built-in gadget Mel @aquilacrafts
@WonkyTowersCrafts …where in Swansea were you? Pam and I met doing craft fairs in Mumbles… probably in the late 1990’s ( ish)
and OH @PCCrafts …I remember having to put blankets over the engine and UNDER the bonnet and having to remember to remove it before trying to start the car in the morning. My dad’s first car even had a starting handle that you put in under the front bumper and gave it a hard turn to try to start the car !!
Morning everyone.
Congratulations to the happy couple Sue @SueTrevor - what lovely news.
Hope the fishes are settling in Mina @theslothscavern tropical fish are so pretty.
All loved up to here and I’ll be back later on today to keep an eye on all those sales etc. Have a great day all.
Ooft, it’s such a risk isn’t it? You’d have to be really confident of sales to take that kind of hit.
I’m going to bore you all over the next few days with a few necklaces in this design:
Morning all.
Congratulations to your daughter @SueTrevor A lovely occasion to look forward to.
Hope the fish have settled in Mina @theslothscavern are they easy to tell apart?
Such a shame about the licensing fee, lovely bike though! @TheHermitsBothy
Enjoy your crochet again Brenda. @teabreaks
Good morning all. Loving all the items you are showing:slightly_smiling_face:. I’m having to change what I do due to health and lack of inspiration and motivation for my art. I’ve been an artist for over 40 years and have sold hundreds of paintings, It’s much easier now for me to sit and knit or crochet so here is one of my latest knits. I’ve done a few little bits but will be going back to doing what I love best making crochet blankets. I love doing the designs choosing colours etc. here is my listing for today. A cute pair of booties with a daisy
Good morning everyone. Congratulations for sales, engagements and new fish arrivals.
Unfortunately it looks like my sale earlier in the week was some kind of joke/scam. The buyer gave an incorrect email and street address so the parcel just came right back to me and I cannot contact the buyer. I let Folksy know and they have confirmed the same buyer did the exact same thing to another seller. Folksy and I are baffled by the motive. On Folksy’s advice I am waiting a few days before refunding in case the buyer gets in touch but I am not holding out much hope. It was a very small sale and I have the items back but have wasted time, packaging, postage and dancing on this and it is quite unsettling.
Anna @Fififoxi can you strike my sale off the tally
The last of my hot air balloon cards - hopefully something new tomorrow
In feeling sorry for myself I forgot to say good luck with new crochet ventures
@PatchworkPackages what a bizarre thing to do
My son named them Deborah @DeborahJonesJewellery , so he better knows who is who, but apparently Berry has a darker line at the top, Mary is little & Jerry is the medium sized that chases the other two all the time. Now if Mary should have been Jerry or Berry should have been Mary, I don’t know, and I am not willing to get involved
So sorry to hear that Elizabeth @PatchworkPackages , some people are very odd and it is so hard to find a bit of honesty nowadays! Who knows what’s the reason behind this, as they have paid, it would be interesting to know…
Good morning. Another dreary day. Another day in the sewing room
Congratulations to your daughter Sue @SueTrevor
And another sale purse
Valerie
@PatchworkPackages that is awful…and I wonder if it is allowed for us to know the name of the seller or is that not allowed?..perhaps admin will deal with it and if it happens to anyone else, can flag it up?
