# [Daily Listing Challenge and Group Promotion Thread August 2024

Oh that one. The hardest thing for me since we moved here is the roadworks… never seen so many popping up at the same time, and anywhere you want to go, you have to go round!

Roadworks are annoying. In Kent we just get road closed signs …
On Saturday, on the last 6 miles of our journey home we saw 5 road closed signs. There were no diversions and no indications of what road was closed. We arrived home without encountering anything! I presume it was even further along, but who knows?
A set of tumble dryer balls from me today.

Didn’t manage to get on here yesterday, but I’m planning to catch up on your news over the day.

Weather’s still awful:frowning::frowning::frowning::sweat_drops::sweat_drops::sweat_drops:

Was late to work bc the farm down the road was late getting their cows in for milking, so the bus was stuck the other side (that’s my excuse anyway).

Thanks, Hilary @kokoblue - typo amended😁
Managed to find a relist in need of love.

Morning everyone. Looks like the sun will shine today. I shared the sweetcorn harvest with our neighbours before enjoying some for us and freezing some. Tastes anazing when its just picked.

Morning everyone
Thanks for the well wishes for my Mum, she thinks it’s an after effect of falling into the garden pond the other day! I’ll keep an eye on her.

Sue @SueTrevor - I was looking at your kits the other day and was trying to figure out what the long tubey thing was - is it a handle? What are the silk cocoons? Sorry, I don’t know anything about it and was just wondering?

My listing today is:

I agree and not a short detour either, we miles it this morning and takes us 9 miles out of our way round trip. As not proper roads until the A31 the car takes a battering as have to keep swerving to avoid the potholes. Already had one tyre replaced this year because of a pot hole at Weyhill that I could not miss due to oncoming traffic.

Yeah, i remember your venture with the pothole. You would think for villages like this, where there is one road in/out basically, there would be more careful planning.

A relist from me today, but I have actually taken photos of several new Journals! Does anybody do a ‘drop’ where they let new listing go live at the same time? I see it’s a new thing nowadays and wondered what people’s thoughts were.

Good morning everyone triffid cutting shortly let the bickering begin :joy:

Another lidded container today this time I have successfully managed the pattern matching (much easier on a cylinder then on the oblong box I tried and failed with)

Morning everyone. Those danish pasteries sound very nice Caroline @Caroleecrafts - very naughty but so scrummy - I really admire your will power but I’m with Lee on this one. In Scandinavia they call Danish pasteries Wienerbrod because they were first made in Denmark by Viennese bakers, my Swedish Grandmamma used to make them for the family.

Talking about the dreadful state of the roads - I think it’s the same all over the UK - there are about the same number of potholes in Devon as Herefordshire and probably everywhere else, it’s like a third world country - we waltz down the road trying to avoid them but there’s always one you can’t miss because of oncoming traffic. I wonder where our Road Tax money goes?

Have a nice day everyone and I’ll be popping in again later today. :wave:t3:.
