Do you shop on folksy?

Do you shop on folksy as well as sell?

There are lots of threads on the forum at the moment talking about lack of sales and even shop views here on folksy.

I have said on another thread Folksy has been extremely quiet for my Art In Wax for a couple of months which is odd and I am struggling to understand why as I promote a lot and as I’m selling very well in other outlets online, in fact this week I sold several and I’m just back from posting some poppies to Scotland this morning.

I have in the past done a lot of shopping here for myself I love handbags and for handmade gifts for others so I’m not just about selling.

Anyway I was just wondered if as sellers you are still shopping here?

I like to look LOL, but as we’re in the middle of a house move I’m not up for buying. Once we have moved and settled a bit I’ll be looking for some items.

Handmade is for a particular affluent market and I can only really afford some handmade items as a special, one off kind of purchase. I wish we had more available funds as some of the items on Folksy are wonderful!

I have done in the past. I was a shopper here long long before I had a shop. But I only stumbled across Folksy back then as I was a crafter and was looking for materials on google I believe. I’m guessing from things I’ve read on the forum that Folksy brand awareness still sucks.

And must admit that recently I haven’t bought much in the way of mades, but I as am going to try to do the bulk of my Christmas shopping from here. I’m gonna be looking about

So far I’ve bought supplies from two sellers on Folksy.

For the family I receive wish lists for birthdays and Christmas so I if someone wants something if I don’t have time to make it myself and someone sells it on Folky I will be buying.

It all depends there was a lovely pendent I wanted for myself but at the time money was very tight as we are rebuilding most of our house so by the time I had some money saved the pendent was already sold.

I’m hoping things will get easier over the next year and a half as we are now quite a way through the rebuild although we still have a new kitchen to rebuild.

I’m looking at fellow folksy shops now for items to put onto my Christmas Wish list

Yes, we have in the past, both birthday and Christmas gifts.
There are quite a few items that have been favorited which I’m hoping will find their way into our basket this December!

I do shop on here occasionally, mainly for gifts but sometimes for myself. I usually pick up a few bits at the craft fairs I do as well, it saves on postage and as I’m there anyway…

Yes, I buy quite a lot (under both my shop names and my husband buys stuff for me under his own account name). I also shop for friends’ and relatives’ birthday/christmas presents.

If we, who make and appreciate handmade items, don’t buy, then who will?

Yes, I buy from Folksy. Bought some lovely things for my baby grandson and also beads and jewellery supplies for making my own items. Now on the hunt for Christmas presents.

Glad you agree, Hazel ;o)

And another thing: I always pass on the shop details to the recipient of the gift so that they can be introduced to Folksy, too. It is helpful if the seller includes a business card for that purpose.

Yes I buy on here, in fact I bought something the other day from someone I spotted here on the forum! I love being able to get unusual gifts for people and I’ve bought craft supplies for myself too

I have bought things from here (supplies and finished items) my problem is a lot of what I would like to buy is for me and we don’t have the ‘spare’ cash to buy things just because I like them, I need to sell more cards so I can afford to spoil myself!

I haven’t been on Folksy long, but I’ve bought several things so far. I bought my first Christmas stocking filler from here yesterday

I buy too, I have got lots of Christmas presents, soaps, art, a rug (dolls house) ornaments, jewellery, lotions and potions, cards and lots and lots of destash beads. I am leaving the suppliers own business cards in with the presents too so that people know that their gifts were handmade and special

I usually try and buy most of my Christmas presents from folksy if I can. But last year I think I got carried away with hand bound note books - so I think I now have a lifetime ban from these. Unfortunately this year I’ve already bought my closest family their presents -we all met up at the weekend to see caro emerald in Birmingham, so I paid for us all to stay in a hotel which was about the same as I’d normally spend per person (small family, cheap hotel  Pretty disappointed to not be able to mooch folksy this year…but maybe I’ll buy a few things anyhow!
