Do you still have a blog, if so do you use it for just your craft and shops or do you use it for personal use, a bit like an online diary or do you use it for a bit of both. I started mine a few years ago when they seemed to be more popular.
We use to have regular posts showing our latest post but I haven’t seen any for a while, I did do a bit of a search but couldn’t find any recent ones. Is it worth doing a new thread for showcasing our latest blog posts.
I miss blogs! I used to love reading them and followed quite a few but it all seemed to tail off (my own included lol). It’s been on my to-do list for a few months to bring mine back
I used to blog regularly as you did Jan but found when I joined in blog hops. I lent ages visiting all the blogs , commenting etc but got no visits in return so gave up. I do miss it but think within the UK people do not understand the etiquette of blog parties, hops etc. When I was linked with a US group used to get 50+ blogging and we all visited each other, leaving comments.
I did try to resurrect on here but spent 3 weeks taking to myself.
I have my blog as I enter cardmaking blog challenges and only use it for my crafting - I may post the occasional personal thing, but not often. I enjoy reading other crafters’ posts and comment on many - probably more comments than I get on my posts. I do limit the time I spend blogging, otherwise I’m inclined to spent too much time reading other blogs and not enough time on my crafting!
I still have a blog but I’m not very good at keeping it up to date (but do have a post in the pipeline)! I used to blog quite regularly but I find my time is spent doing other things these days.
Yes, I have a blog, but I am not posting as regularly as I used to as I am very busy with my day job. I thought that maybe during the lockdown I might be able to as I have a few projects on the go, but I am as busy as before. Regarding link parties, every now and then I take part in one, but unfortunately I don’t always have the time to keep it up. I am planning to catch up with it this weekend and visit other blogs and comment.
Regarding the posts, I have a mixture of projects and other things I enjoy doing without getting too personal. As I love taking photos and styling them, I am making it quite visual (also people don’t have the time to read too much these days, me included).
Yes, I use my PhotoFairytales blog pretty regularly - not as often as I should, I’m sure, but I do it when I can!
I use mine for bits of ‘behind the scenes’, the occasional bit of funny (hopefully!)/waffley stuff about family and life, introducing new designs and items, gift guides, that sort of thing. I’ve never taken part in hops etc, I tend to look on mine as a bit of helpful SEO, another way of keeping people informed (ie, as an extra to social media), and to keep my followers in touch (so like an alternative to my mailing list). I use it for the odd giveaway and discount offer too. I often cross-post with my mailing list too, mentioning ‘whats on the blog’ as part of a newsletter, and I also use the posts on social media too.
I’m following your blog on Bloglovin’ now Sarah - loving the astronomy card you’ve featured in your latest post. Will they be available in your shop? Elaine
Ah, thanks so much for following Elaine, lovely to have you!! To be honest I’ve got so many other things I’ve got to add from my website to my Folksy shop I’m not sure I’ll be adding the cards for the foreseeable, no. Although I do have an idea in my head for a range of new card designs… Oh, how I wish there were more hours in the day… if someone sold those on Folksy I’d be first in line to buy some!!!
I’m terrible with blogging - had two attempts at it and it never took off and I wasn’t inspired enough to make any clever posts. Guess I’m just a dull old thing…
