Dodgy shops

it gets worse, is there a shop selling drugs now???..reported of course but it will be there until Monday…we’ll all be high by then !!!

For a shop selling illegal drugs you can email urgent@folksy.com and it will be removed quicker than using the report item button.

how can I check if they are drugs…something called poppers from Amsterdam…I googled it and it said it was drugs…I don’t want to report something if the error is mine x @SashaGarrett

They have a shop on Etsy and ship from Italy.

Definition poppers?

Amsterdam Poppers are a European import popper that are becoming very popular in the U.S. and around the world. It is made from isopropyl nitrite so isn’t anything out of this world unique. It does, however, have a nice kick to it and gives you warm and euphoric feeling that the best poppers should

Reported. Why will Folksy not vet shops first. Every weekend and holiday this happens, looks very professsional.

Caroline @Caroleecrafts I have emailed urgent folksy…shocking isn’t it…
Perhaps I should be flippant…we should all buy some, have a party and then we wouldn’t care…xx

someone just asked me if I had seen the tags for the items…mmm…OMG !!

Good grief. I think this is it Folksy have got to stop this now surely. Either that or someone had to be checking new shops throughout weekends and holidays. Good job not on the front page!

That is good Brenda but still think shops have now got to be vetted for the sake of sellers and customers alike. If this had been over the Jubilee weekend could have been up longer. When customers leave Folksy because of this we will suffer and Folksy have to give due care and consideration to us it’s customers, they need to act now and instigate shops vetting on Monday.

Not sure if this would work … but we all know admin takes time. So, if the Join Folksy Shop asked which area the seller was based … use the recently created Folksy Scotland Folksy North East etc then the algorithms in the backgroud would direct to the Admin folks in each of the regions to double check? Just a thought?

The local team captains don’t get paid so expecting them to do things like shop vetting (especially at weekends when the rogue shops tend to appear) is asking a bit much!

All it would take is to thank the seller for their application which will be processed in due course. Most selling sites you have to wait a few days for a shop to be agreed. If applied over the weekend they wait until Monday. Surely if genuine they would understand why vetting has to be done.

I used to do juried fairs, you applied then after the closing date the products were vetted and yay or nay would come back. In those instances used to wait several months but stopped the rogue sellers.

Am sure most new and old sellers would rather have it done that way than the current system.

Fair enough. It was just an idea anyway. Thanks so much for you reply. Take care.

This is a fabulous idea. A much easier process to put in place. Thanks for replying to my suggestion - thankfully, it was just an idea. I may need to cut down on the coffee in a morning.

I agree Caroline @Caroleecrafts it seems to be the sensible way forward. We pay for a service and that service is obviously letting us down. I really don’t understand why it down to us sellers to have monitor this type of thing and report it to admin.

Would be interesting to see if we did not check and report just let these shops get on with it, would things move quicker to change or would no one bother. In a few months we would be overrun with dodgy shops. Perhaps we should try it and see what happens. All we want as sellers is for a vetting process to be done on new sellers.

Hi Brenda, poppers are a drug that you inhale. I believe its similar to dry-cleaning fluid in make up.
It’s used by clubbers and in the sex industry for the high it gives while doing certain activities… (can also give you a big headache too).
My understanding is that it’s not illegal to sell, but it is illegal to promote it fof human use.
Any which way, it’s doesn’t fit with Folksy’s craft image, so you’re definitely right to report it.

PS… I’ve learned this through 35 years as a nurse. Not thro experience… honest…
