I found it odd too… this is why i thought id ask if anyone else experienced it. If i don’t have an email in the morning ill phone up. Thanks for your input :slight_smile:

It says not for individual use, but it has an option on the drop down for indiviual use when you land on the link. Does everyone use the business option or doesn’t it matter or individual?

I’ve had a personal (individual) account with them for a couple of years, but I’ve just changed over to a business one recently. There’s no difference unless you charge VAT on sales (that’s only available on the business account) or your sales exceed £1000 in a day (I wish!). The sales limit on the business account is higher, and your business name is shown on receipts, otherwise it looks exactly the same to me. And you only get the free reader with a business account.

Just an update in case anyone else finds themselves with a verified account without making a deposit: I spoke to them today and they said if you’ve had your bank account for a long time- somehow (he wasn’t sure how) it’s found in the ether and they can already verify it without your input. So when I get my card reader my dad and I will both swap a £1 and hope that my £1 does indeed end up in my account!

Just ordered mine today! What do I need to put as VAT please? Is it 20% as standard?

i think you only have to charge VAT if you’ve registered. I changed mine to naught.

I think unless your turnover (or expected turnover) is more than £82,000 you do not need to register or charge for VAT. Wishful thinking in my case :smile:

I ordered one! I phoned up and spoke to a lady who told me that the free one works with iOS 9 and it wasn’t a problem. I think I’ll try it out before I take it to a craft fair! x

I have had email from izettle telling me that it is now OK to update to iOS 9 although I’m not sure I’ll be doing that anyway
