I came across a post on FB last night and chanced to look at the seller’s shop only to find E** links across the listing. I did report it and I can’t find the comment I added to FB post so presume it has been removed.
It did make me think though so I just did an E*** search on here and my goodness there is an awful lot of rule breaking going on, often just tucked away as a tag. I’ve reported a couple but hopefully Folksy can do a search of their own and sort it.
I just had a look and there are quite a few with E… in the tags but some even have it on the 1st line of their description!
Precisely. And sometimes its at the end of the shop page with a link ! I’ve reported a few at random but not going to do them all… Life’s toooo short
Deleted my reply again, not sure why I came back but gone again!
Perhaps some may have copied a listing from Etsy then changed it a bit. I have added things in error before. Might just be a mistake (not all of them though) When you are listing on both it is easy to get muddled. I think banning might be a slight over reaction to those that have made an error
I think putting your shop link at the end of your ‘about shopname’ is a teeny bit iffy and that is surely Not imported but must be specifically added but yes I agree in the case of tags it probably is .
Wonder why they do that? How very strange x
It might be a way to get the listing appearing in search engine results where people are using E*** as a search term.
When you are not on the Folksy site it can be difficult to showcase Folksy over E*** especially if you had an E*** shop first. My Instagram account is a case point where the Etsy link is prominent over the Folksy one. I spend more time talking and highlighting Folksy over Etsy but I think people go for what they are most familiar with so see the Etsy link first - it’s a shame.
My point is merely that nobody should have an E*** word in their shop or their listing. We are specifically banned from doing anything which leads people to our competitors. It is a hanging offence, possibly inclusive of drawn and quartering.
That was exactly my thought.
Hi,
I’m new to using Facebook and Instagram - are we not permitted to put a link to our Folksy items/shop in posts?
Thanks
Hello Noelle
yes you should put your Folksy shop link on your Instagram profile. I dont know much about facebook.
Just letting you know your Instagram link from you Folksy shop isnt working though.
Hi welcome to Folksy, yes put a link to your shop on FB and IG
Yes we are allowed and it is also recommended to put your link to Folksy when using any social media so people can find where you are selling the item :). The complaint was about putting a link to another shop in the Folksy bio/listing or using another selling platform as a tag.
I love your neck warmers by the way and welcome to Folksy.
Oh I see - I went in and deleted all mine - I’ll reinsert them
Thank you for your lovely compliment
Oh I’ll check the link and see if I can fix it, thank you
Thank you
