Don’t forget facebook said they had fixed the problem but the BBC proved it was still happening.
hi - what problem is that? thanks.
Just seen your boosted post on FB Sally was at the top of the screen looks great, lovely and crisp, i didn’t click on it though as i already like your page and didn’t want it to cost you anything from your advert limit, hope you get lots of interest x
thanks so much for letting me know - am excited to hear that it looks okay! not sure what i was doing really - but wanted to have a go.
How did you find it in the end Sally?
I just tried a pounds worth but am not sure if I’ve really used the right key words, I chose the new audience one but maybe I should have done the ‘people who like your page and their friends’ option.
I used it for British Crafters when I was re opening in the Summer. It definitely brought new people to the page and I got bookings from people who I hadn’t seen before - so I would definitely use it again if that helps!
hi there-
it didn’t do that great but i panicked last minute and was unsure really of what i was doing. i chose craft, handmade and nature etc. as interests as thought this reflected my cards.
i think i should have done a better, more prefessional advert which i am going to do for Christmas - how was your reach in the end ? mine was pretty bad. I will try harder next time … !
My boost doesn’t finish yet but I’ll let you know tomorrow.
I think I’ll try and do some market re search into it before doing it again, maybe a proper advert is the way to go, like you said. It’s so difficult to know with these things, maybe it takes a few go’s to know what works for individuals.
i couldn’t stop watching the figures when it was running - i drove myself mad !
I’ve boosted a couple of times for £3 then just under £2. It gave my page more likes - a few, not a huge number - and I did see that people had clicked through to my Folksy page but no sales. I will probably do it fairly regularly as £2 is doable! Not looked at the ads, I’m guessing they’re more expensive. My friend tried a giveaway in exchange for FB likes once and she got loads likes but still no more sales! It’s difficult. I work in a jewellery shop and I’m guessing our browsers are the equivalent of people who like and click through to look at Folksy but not buy there and then. It’s an advertising platform and if they like what they see they’ll remember your work and come back when they need to buy. The trick is to keep reminding them we exist as we’ve no High St shop front to walk past!
What a cute idea! Love the theme of your ads @BigBirdLittleBird
Crikey the mind boggles! Just read through the click farm info and it sounds mad! What a crazy world has sprung from the Internet.
On an entirely unrelated note I like your Fordite pieces @SashaGarrett. Never heard of that before, how cool!
hey ! how did it go ?
hope you got lots of views and clicks to your shop : - )
Hi! Sorry I forgot to let you know… It was pretty shameful, I think I only reached around 200 but I did only pay £1… I don’t think I used the right terms, I’ll look more into it before having another go. I can see it has potential though
hi,
thanks for getting back to me .
i only got about 360 - and only paid a £1.00 as it was a test really to see how it works. yes, i think it’s worth looking into - but i have to concentrate properly next time …
I boosted that post you commented on yesterday @SallyandtheFreckles, targeted at those who like my page and their friends. I did it for the day, £2 budget. The post got 36 likes and 806 people reached.
I have had a great result from a boosted post for British Crafters on Sunday
So far I have spent £2.92. Organic reach 137 Paid reach 1442
I have had 5 bookings from it and also seem to have reappeared in peoples feeds that hadn’t seen us for months!
This one definitely worked for me x
Maybe that extra £1 really makes a difference.
Did you all target people who already liked your page, or new people?
I was wondering if it was worth doing the people who already like your page and their friends one, because Facebook don’t show your posts to everyone whos liked it.
I did mine to page likers and friends of friends I think. 1 page liker said this was the first BC post she had seen for months and considering how present the page is for 5 days out of 7 that was really surprising!
I did the same as @dottiedesigns, because not everyone that likes your page will see you in their newsfeed due to Facebook’s algorithms and I wanted to communicate directly to them.
If I was looking to get new likers (and possibly customers) then I’d target a certain demographic and would probably draft an advert aimed at them specifically rather than a post.
