Had my first craft fair today. Only ever sold online so to be honest I was pretty nervous!! Planned my table at home so I knew what I wanted it to look like, and got there nice and early to set up! Thankfully it was inside and was held at The Net in North Shields on the fish quay in the old low light building (just in case anyone is local!)
I didnāt know what to expect- wasnāt sure of things like how much of a float to take etc.
But after 5 hours I was realised it was a good idea! People seemed really interested! I made sure to take a linocut so people could see where the prints come from- and that was a good idea! (I made sure to take a detailed one!) but it definitely got people talking! Iāve included a photo of my stall when it was first set up this morning.
I was pleasantly surprised at the end when I counted up my profit as well after I got home! Iām tempted to do another one in the new year after today!
Soā¦having never done one before- if you havenāt either, I recommend you take the plunge. Itās scary yes- but helpful! I found it was good for a bit of market research and to be honest it was also quite a confidence booster- especially when I ask myself things like āam I making what people want to buy- or just what I like to make!ā And āam I selling my things at the right price?ā So definitely useful! Even if I just do it once every now and then!
So yeah- just wanted to share my good news!!
Thanks folks!
Ohā¦and to make the day even better- I came home to watch Lewis Hamilton win the championship- so very happy!! Haha
