Chucking it down here again today - it seems never-ending! I had an early hospital appointment this morning. It was for an ultrasound scan, after that incident a few weeks ago that caused me to become anaemic. They had to do two different scans - not the most pleasant experience, but hubby took me to Dunelm afterwards so that we could choose some new bedding and have a coffee. This afternoon will consist of sewing and watching England in the cricket world cup on TV. They’re playing at Cardiff and amazingly it’s dry and sunny there.
I have another set of bunting to list today. All loved and pinned to here.
Hello all
Very windy here! Just popped out to the post office wearing coat, scarf and woolly hat!? Thought this was June
Hope everyone is having a good day.
So many lovelies, pinned and liked! @FluffStuffCrafts Love the card with the cakes! @teabreaks Love this painting Brenda, great atmosphere and love the purple! @KelandyDesigns Love the earrings, I actually thought they were ice creams, but love them either way x
A new listing from me today, another greeting card with seahorse design in aqua and gold
I also wanted to show you something I have made for a colleague who is leaving and moving to pastures new, so this is not in my shop. She has a French bulldog so found a lovely charm and added rose quartz to make a keyring for her.
Afternoon all
Thank you for showing us your daughter’s fabulous work Sue @SueTrevor Just beautiful . Love the colours and designs . Such a lot of work she’s done . I am sure she is well set up to go on into a successful career. Hope you both enjoyed the evening.
Had my daughter upset on the phone late last night. She still misses those heady student days. She is still battling with 3 jobs , tired out , broke and no time to do artwork … what can I say? She needs to meet a rich person who will support her!! but she would never have that.
Also battling with recalcitrant son , not doing much Chemistry or Biology revision . In fact refound his interest in drawing the other day! His subjects are so hard and as he thinks he hasn’t done terribly well already , he may have given up … o woes and more woes..
I seem to be messing about , achieving nothing, too. Yesterday I managed to convert a single duvet cover into a double one by adding part of a sheet! Who does things like that!
Wishing you all a good day .
@NOfkantsCurios It was many moons ago Natalie. At the time I just thought he was being facetious so ignored him. It’s something that’s stuck in my memory so I haven’t rushed back to sort things out.
That charm is sooo cute. I’m sure she’ll love it. @carolinefrodsham Your daughter sounds like mine a few years ago. Things aren’t easy for this generation. And yes I do things like that. I’ve planned to convert my duvet so that it actually covers the sides of the bed. @PocketfulCreations It’s dry and sunny here but also cold and windy. I hope the outfielders keep warm. Take it easy for the rest of today.
@teabreaks The person I’d posted to said it’d happened to them before, once an item went completely missing and, like yours, another turned up back in the UK 3 months later. They return them by the cheapest method (ship) when they haven’t been picked up so it takes aaaages. That definitely made me think awful postal service rather than buyer or seller’s fault though. We shouldn’t have to go to the sorting office every so often just to check there aren’t any parcels we weren’t notified of.
I wouldn’t mind paying again in those circumstances (although £40 would still hurt), but for a customer like @valerie’s where they seem to admit they knew it was waiting for them but just didn’t do anything about it, or even think to message “I’m really busy the next few weeks, can you hold off on posting it”, then it would be irritating (although I’d probably give in for just £3 too). There’s good customer relations and making sure you’re not being taken advantage of, one will help with business, the other will make it really hard to make a living.
@ChrisStoneArtist That certainly seems like an appropriate listing for this weekend! @ArtilyEverCrafter Congratulations on tempting the fairy back. @carolinefrodsham Great idea! Always annoying when places have lovely covers in the wrong size, now it won’t matter.
So wet and windy today, more like March than June. Very much like that picture @ChrisStoneArtist . It’s Blackpool Pride this weekend, supposedly with live events outdoors. I wouldn’t fancy putting on a glittery frock and walking down the Prom in this weather! I suspect some frantic re-organising will be happening to salvage as much as possible.
Evening all, brightened here for the evening.
Sue @SueTrevor your daughters work is lovely, and her display is very eye catching. Love the colour combinations.
Spent the day doing my monthly shift at the emporium that. I sell through…I think the rain kept a lot of people away until it dried up this afternoon. I managed to get myself organised enough to take some beads in to make several necklaces, so it was good use of my time.
Sue @SueTrevor your daughter’s work if fabulous. You must be very proud.
Caroline @carolinefrodsham, so difficult when they are going through it isn’t it?
