Good afternoon everyone, I’m really late today. My eldest son and his partner came round today and stayed for lunch so I haven’t done very much today. I think I’ll just list from Oswestry Jewels today.
Today I have a white ceramic bead with blue stylised bird pattern bracelet and earrings set

Anna @Fififoxi yes historical clothing is fascinating. Laundry day was a nightmare as lots of “embellishments” needed to be removed, and then sewn back on. They must have been highly skilled at the quick tacking stitch!

I used to make stage costumes for musicals, including period sets like Oliver and Les Mis, and did loads of research. If anyone is interested I have a few photos on my FB page https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.422752957777311&type=3

I once spent three hours in the haberdashery “shop” at Blists Hill at Ironbridge - it’s set in the year 1900. The woman in there was a font of historical costume info, including how to make working women’s corsets with quilted string inserts rather than metal or whalebones - so they had more movement.

I am also impressed with Folksy admin’s approach to the scammers - they are very proactive and communicative. Bravo.

Very cute puppy Helen @PocketfulCreations I would also do no work if I had those two beauties in the house. Luckily my diva (divo?) cat tends to be most needy at night.

Did you belong to any local am dram group Sharon @TheOldButton …I belonged to Port Talbot Operatic society for a long time and before that I did show from when I was about 12 until we moved to Wales…Mentioning Oliver made me remember that I was Widow Corny (Mrs Bumble)…happy days x

No, not me Brenda @teabreaks. I’m probally the most “over-acting” person you could meet, so no self respecting am-dram would want me. And I certainly can’t sing for toffee! I am very envious of your talent!

Both my kids were into performing arts, which is how I got into costume making. The youngest was a “child-actor” and singer - did a few TV programmes and adverts, and was part of the first Only Kids Aloud group that sang Mahlers 8th in St Petersburg. Musicals were fun at first - she played both Oliver and Gavroche, but eventually grew out of it and preferred backstage work. The eldest is totally more motivated and just loves being on stage - even if it’s just chorus. She’s hoping to to get a house in York close enough to a group there, she doesn’t drive so had to give up when she moved away from home (and Mum’s taxi).

We went to a local production of Spamalot at the Princess Royal in Port Talbot last year - they were very good.

Hello all

Have been busy getting an order ready which was picked up by a local customer. Also sorting out my Mother’s Day stock and advertised on a local page so hopefully will get some local sales before the day. Hilary @kokoblue , were you asking what people do about Mother’s Day things? I’m thinking I’ll just move the Mother’s Day collection to the end of the collections, so the Easter collection will be the first one people will see. Not sure whether to take them out of my shop or not.

Forgot how far behind I get in loving everything when I leave it till the afternoon! Been through everyone’s lovely things and caught up a bit. Thanks again for the congratulations. Like I said, hope we all get more sales (not scams!)

Hope your daughter settles well into her boat Roz @OrchardFelts and she meets some nice fellow boaters there.

Here’s a sunflower birthday card from me today:
