Folksy 365 - Daily Listing Challenge Thread - May 2019

Lovely stuff as usual, But I just have to mention your hare pot, Sarah @thedotterypotter, (shared on my Facebook page), and your peg rack, @WoodAndStars, which reminds me of my primary school, where we used to love to hang upside down from the pegs - 65 years ago!

Afternoon all. All loved and pinned etc. to here.

Sorry to hear you had such a bad day Sarah @SarahDesignsUK and that’s rotten news about your Mum Caroline @carolinefrodsham but as everyone has said try not to feel guilty you are doing what is the best for her.

Today I have a dress set and a pair of earrings.

@teabreaks thank you, currently trying to develop some more pattern ideas.
Speaking of which has anyone had much success selling them on Folksy? As they don’t handle VAT like other platforms do I’ve kind of avoided it for now…

All my work is my own design Jen @JenStarKnits but I usually write what I do in picture form.
Many years ago I used to write down my patterns , word for word (stitch for stitch) but then I did some work for a famous London store and the instructions were …sort of…30x30 hem…dec 1 in 10 for 200 rows, 10 x 10 at top…(That would be the panel of a 4 panel skirt). They simplified the patterns and from then on , I did the same. People DO buy patterns but I am not sure if there would be enough customers on folksy. Pattern writing (for selling) is a LONG job and takes ages and also needs testing…not to mention a picture of the original…plus tension or people would use different brands of yarn and then complain that it didn’t fit. I learnt designing when I worked for Hayfield …back in the 60’s…loved it but I am a rebel and love to do my own thing…lol…(AKA making it up as I go along).
Good luck if you decide to do it x

My work is all my own design too. I have about 15 published patterns now that do fairly well on other platforms, I just wasn’t sure how to go about doing it on here

Afternoon all
Thank you so much for your concern about my mum . It helps :slightly_smiling_face: as its so difficult to come to terms with all this . I hope she will be ok in a home, if we can find one . But I keep thinking of how unsettled she was in hospital last year , keeping everyone awake and shouting what is everyone doing in my house!! Which is kind of funny (not for the others) she will be difficult !
. I hope your little girl is ok Sarah @SarahDesignsUK and the antibiotics are helping your son . Poor him . Poor you - Take care.
Great makes peeps .Keep it up and hopefully the sales fairy will pop by soon .:fairy:
So have a good weekend all. I will be back after that I hope .

Caught up to here.
Lovely stuff as usual from everyone.
Love the dolphin brooch @thatenamelguy and the coat rack @WoodAndStars.
Have been busy with a commission on the dark side so haven’t visited here as much as I’d like this week.
With the bank holiday weekend coming, I have relisted my seaside themed cards.

Just popping in to say Hi and apologise for being AWOL. My body went a bit haywire last weekend and turned something that would normally be a minor inconvenience into something very extreme, leaving me anaemic, exhausted and feeling dreadful. I’m now waiting for an appointment for a scan to investigate further. I’m so utterly exhausted that I’m struggling to get anything done. I’ve been visiting the thread and loving and pinning, but I didn’t feel up to posting and I don’t have anything to list.

Sarah @thedotterypotter thanks for stepping up to host the thread.
Caroline @carolinefrodsham I really feel for you. Such a difficult and upsetting situation. Please don’t feel guilty about the decisions you have to make.
Sarah @SarahDesignsUK congratulations on being the featured seller. You’re not having the best of weeks are you, you poor thing. Big hugs to you and your little ones.
Sharon @OhhhWhatAYarn lovely to see you back on the thread. I hope you’re feeling better now.
Hugs to anyone else that needs one.

I’m going to try and get some of my WIP finished, so hopefully I’ll be listing again very soon. In the meantime I’ll carry on loving and pinning.
