Excellent advice thank you… As I’ve been using my phone to list I presumed the first jewellery option was the only option! All edited… Fingers crossed… Thanks againx

Good morning everyone, I’m in the wars this morning after bending my already damaged big toe nail right back late last night. Bled quite a bit and made me feel really sick. So not going to my usual craft group this morning. Have loads to catch up with anyway and already have to be out for other commitments later this afternoon. Very behind now on here, but trying my best to catch up with listings and news. Apologies for anything important I may have missed or not seen yet.

More Halloween Cross Stitch Kit listings for today …

Hi
Today’s listing is another pair of fabric pots in a bright cheerful red.

The sun is shining here with bright blue sky. It looks warm but its decidedly chilly out there. Lovely to see the sun it lifts the spirit a bit.

ps reading through the listings, a lot of us seem to be unhappy with our photography. I know there are blogs etc about taking photos but I think I need a practical course showing how to use our phones and how to get the best from our photos, What software is best, how to set up photos. Do you think this is something someone on here would be willing to do. I live in Cambridge but would be willing to travel somewhere central for such a course.

Sorry just in from a meeting at work! Headaches!!!
Hey ho! That’s life as they say!

My item for today is a crocheted Infinity Scarf in the peacock tones Denys Brunton designer yarn.

@BeautifulFabricBags photography is difficult for all of us I think, as we have differing equipment, differing lighting situations and such like. I actually take my photos in my conservatory, either against the cream coloured wall, with my manikin stood on the sofa, or on the window sill or for small items, in hand to show size against the back drop on polished tumble stones, with no additional lighting, just natural daylight - when we have any, and use my iPad to take the pictures. I try of a uniform look, but you can only work with what you have. A course would be good on techniques etc… but people like me are still hampered with the setting and equipment etc… and I don’t think I could afford to buy any fancy lights, camera or backdrops. So what I am saying is tips would be great, as long as it works with what I have, lol!

Lovely items @clareyates, just wondering if you could add some more tags, such as ‘teachers gifts’ ‘mother’s day’ etc… just in case someone was looking specifically for gift ideas for someone using those words in the search criteria.

And as you fill your shop with more items, you could have shop sections / categories such as necklaces, pendants, bracelets etc… to help people browse through for specific items.

Afternoon all, just popping in to catch up on loving & pinning, so it’s a bit less time consuming later!

@BeautifulFabricBags I agree, it would be lovely to be advised as to how to take better photos, but I suspect the issue is that, like Natalie @NOfkantsCurios, I’m limited to taking photos in my house (which in Manchester in October is pretty gloomy!) & I can’t afford to invest in fancy lighting equipment! I dream of the day when I have some spare cash to get some decent kit  Those stars are a bugger too as they’re basically frames, so getting my phone to focus on the wire & not whats underneath it is a nightmare!

@clareyates - thanks for the feedback on that photo. The trick is trying to take one that looks good enlarged on the item page, but also as a little thumbnail on the search screen :slightly_smiling_face:
I think your shop looks lovely - others have given some great feedback. Are you on any social media platforms - if so you can link those to your page (under ‘shop appearance’ in your dashboard), also if you do have those accounts make sure they also contain your shop details (e.g. in your Instagram bio or a shop now button on Facebook). I’m in the process of making sure I follow everyone on this thread so if you add them in I can find you! x

Ahh fab! Instagram is my favourite platform by far - it’s such a lovely community. And you’re very welcome - one of the best things about Folksy is the way everyone helps each other out - I was in your position nearly one year ago & this forum & it’s lovely people were invaluable!

Oh is it… I use no social media of any sort, so this is all new to me! Everyone’s been so lovely on here, and the tips and comments are fab! Oh really, your doing very well for one year in😊 I’ve sold furniture in the past using things like gumtree and ebay, but using this site is a first and I’m so glad I came across it… I’ve seen some beautiful creations and have lots I want to buy for gifts! I love all things hand made/crafted, they’re always special. Thank you again x

Afternoon all,

Hope everyone is having a good day. It’s been getting very loud in the conservatory this morning :cloud_with_snow:! The sun is shining now though :crossed_fingers: it stays until after the school run!

Another re list of a peg bag today, I really should chose better days when people might actually be thinking of hanging out the washing for these!

All loved & pinned as always! Enjoy the rest of your day all!
