Folksy Secret Santa

So I was discussing the idea of running a folksy secret santa this year. The only thing is I am struggling with how it would work so need your help:

  1. Is it a good idea? and are you in?

  2. Mechanics. I assume I put a list of whoever enters interest into a hat and then pull them out a person to post to. The bit I’m stuck on is the collation/ giving out of private address details …

  3. I thought it would be fun that we video us opening them on instagram or somewhere with a #folksysecret hashtag or something ,

I think I ran something similar quite few years ago on here or maybe it was a secret swap (I can’t remember now as I have organised a few of these on different forums over the years)
All I did was get the names of all parties interested and then paired them up randomly - I made a small questionnaire that people could answer with questions such as: Favourite colour, any allergies (eg; to wool or certain foods if it was going to contain food) so I double checked that I hadn’t paired up any incompatible swappees and it also gave the swapper some little bits of information to work on (colours, themes etc)
I put the questionnaire in the opening post and asked people to copy and paste it into the thread with their answers.

People PM’d me with their addresses but I’m sure most people on here won’t mind giving you their address details as we all have to show it when we sell on here anyway.

I set a deadline for the last parcel to be posted to make sure that I could chase up any stragglers in time for Christmas.

Thank you!! Yes maybe I’m over complicating it and as you say just get anyone who wants to join in to pm me their address with the understanding it will be passed to another folksy seller?

So now I just need to find out who is up for it besides you and me :joy: … come on everyone!
