Folksy Tags - have they increased your sales/views?

I’m not sure if they have made any difference for me yet. I can find my items in searches even with 5 or no tags. I guess we’ll have to give it more time and see…

I’m really not sure what to do with tags, whether to put the effort into adding them or not…I have 859 listings I’d need to edit!
It’s a real shame they were ditched in the first place as they used to help items get noticed so glad they are back. Just such a big task to add them all in

Do a category each day or a few together with lots of breaks…otherwise, it is a huge task.

I did mine as the items needed relisting. Maybe that’s an option?

Why did they ditch them in the first place???

859!!! Oh my word, that’s a lot of listings!!

@Amberlilly I’d vague memories of them saying something in one of the monthly newsletters so I found it for you…

We’re going to start work on bringing tags / keywords back into Folksy. If you have a long memory you might remember that we stopped using tags back in 2012 as they were becoming unwieldy to manage and maintain. But they were popular and we know they can help support browsing around Folksy and now we have a strategy to make it relatively easy to maintain them. It’s a small thing but we’re really excited by it. This task has been blocked by improvements to the homepage re-work and improving flow into the items on Folksy. It is planned for April.

I know! It’s a few at a time. I seem to recall Folksy didn’t think the tags added anything as far as general internet visibility, but views and Google hits did drop when they ditched them

I have only really just got my had around tags thanks to Sarah.
I sat today and went through all my childrens cushions and must admit when I search for items they came up, so I will wait and see if there is any increase in either sales or views.
