Hope your toothache goes @thedotterypotter and your cough improves @PocketfulCreations

I’m getting the kids to bed, then finding some food making my way through Outlander. I’ve basically cried most of the way through it, but can’t stop watching it now. :joy:

Sending good thoughts to make you feel better Sarah @thedotterypotter and Helen @PocketfulCreations :grinning:
Just had a lovely big roast dinner (vegetarian) followed by homemade apple and blackberry crumble from last Autumn’s gatherings. Watched Antiques Roadshow - lucky man with his £50,000 Rolex!

Waiting for Argos delivery of a lava lamp to give to my son on my daughter’s birthday - we’ve always given them a little present on the other one’s birthday so they don’t feel left out and my son has been coveting a lava lamp since he saw one in John Lewis. Left it a bit late though, so thank goodness for Argos same day delivery!

I’ve just been upstairs taking pictures of the animals looking sad and then sending them to my son at Uni, telling him the animals are missing him… I thought maybe he would suggest coming home for few days (as he has no Uni for a week now) but no, I obviously didn’t play on his guilt emotions enough - lol!

Brenda @teabreaks - do you enjoy dancing? I’ve got two left feet…I dance like a spider. I did used to enjoy ice-skating as a teenager though.

I’ve never watched Outlander @SarahDesignsUK…hope you enjoy your dinner through the tears!

I didn’t know you could order things the same day…that sounds great rachael @AppleQueenJewellery. I used to collect the original Mathmos lava lamps from the car boot sale when I was in my early 20’s. most of the time they had gone quite cloudy though. me and my boyfriend at the time had a whole room in his Mum’s house dedicated to our 50’s, 60’s and 70’s Kitsch collection. Then we split up and I didn’t take thing…I don’t know what he did with it all in the end…I bet it would have been worth a fortune now!

I only found out today about Argos when my mum told me. It’s £3.95 for same day delivery and you can choose a 3-4 hour slot, pretty good really and certainly saved us a trip into town. I bet your collection would have been worth a fortune, Kitsch is very fashionable now!

This is where the laptop comes in handy. I can watch TV while I do what I want to do on the sofa, laptop on a little TV table. We only use the desktop during the day as it’s in the office upstairs.

As far as the lap cat idea goes, we have five cats. None of them will sit on my lap, only one will sit on my partner’s lap, but four of them are quite happy to come and snuggle up in bed! Sadly, the most affectionate is the one who is least likely to keep her claws to herself.

Hi everyone, this is a great idea. How’s your tooth Sarah?

Picked my daughter up from the station earlier, after she had been staying the weekend with a friend, then sat down to watch Call the Midwife, (love the programme). I’m now about to do an online shop, I’m usually online late in the evening.

Typical, since I’ve wanted to take a photo she hasn’t been back, but at least I can get on with some painting now! Will try get one tomorrow.

The sleeping bag cat loves being fussed in bed and sometimes sleeps on top of me, but she’s not that relaxed in the rest of the house. She’s just started sitting on laps for 5/10 mins, but she’d rather sit next to me than on my knee too (hence stealing my desk). The other cat is normally desperate to sit on laps, but he’s overweight, so after 10 minutes you’re normally desperate for him to get down again.
Strangely, the stray cat that is slowly moving himself in is the biggest lap cat of them all!

There definitely seem to be attention seeking cats and aloof cats, and it’s really hard to get any affection off the aloof cats unless they’re in just the right mood.

@JOYSofGLASS That is a colourful jacket! I hope you’ve got some nice bright tops to go with it. It always annoys me when there’s fake pockets or other useful features, so at least you managed to sort it.

All three of our cats will sit on laps but only on their terms and when they feel like it. The most dedicated lap cat we ever had was one of our first two, back in the 1980s. He was called Biggles (all our cats have been named after characters in books). He was a soppy thing and jumped on my lap, purring and kneading the minute I sat down. He also did that thing where they head bump the bottom of your mug of tea just as you put it to your lips. Does anyone else have a cat that does that? For years I was regularly washing out tea stained shirts.

Sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for a telephone interview due to take place in 15 mins! Not had an interview via the phone before - not sure if it will be easier or harder…deep breaths

Good luck with your phone interview Roz @OrchardFelts xxx

@Beadseedz, one of my cats bumps the cereal bowl when you are eating, so he can have the milk - naughty!

Well, I’ve phoned my dentist non-stop for 1hr 20 minutes and still haven’t been able to get through, so it looks like I won’t be getting an emergency appt today after all. Mr Dp has a job to go to tomorrow, so I won’t be able to have an appt then either as I won’t go on my own. I left a message with the dentist but I doubt they will get back to me. I found another dentist not far from me called Gentle Dental and the reviews were that they were very patient and kind, so I’ve put my name on the waiting list for them…they are getting a new dentist, so they said the wait would probably be a Month.
I may drive down to my dentist in a bit to see if I can actually book an appt for Wednesday. I only slept for 3 hours last night with the worry, so I dread to think what I will be like by Wednesday!

Well that went well … not! Interview booked for 10:30am but no call so obviously not going to get that job! Oh well - back to the applications.

Shame you’re not based round here Sarah @thedotterypotter - my sister is a dentist - she specialises in nervous/anxious/phobic patients.

Hope you can get an appointment soon Sarah. It’s always a worry, even when you try to be really brave.

Next interview will hopefully go a lot better Roz @OrchardFelts

Just back from the Post Office, was hoping to take some pics but it’s just to dull and gloomy even with my daylight lamp. Hopefully brighter weather tomorrow.

Well - they did ring eventually! Not really sure why they bothered with a phone interview but they have invited me along for a face to face one sometime later this week so slight progress made!

That’s good Roz. But how rude of them not to ring on time!! Sarah @thedotterypotter, I do hope that you get seen soon. It’s quite wrong that you should have to wait when you are in pain and anxious.

Aww, it’s such a horrible task deciding what to keep and get rid of…loads of love Valerie @jenniesgems xx

Well done on getting through the phone interview Roz @OrchardFelts “Fingers crossed” for the next part. Is it a job that you are quite keen to get?

I drove up to the dentists in the end and they fit me in after a short wait - apparently their system was playing up this Morning. Superman remembered me telling him about my anxiety problems and he looked at my teeth and thinks that the root canal I had done just over a year ago has failed and I keep getting infections. He’s given me painkillers and more antibiotics. My options are: see if it settles, have a second root canal done by a specialist for £800 or have the tooth removed (which he was encouraging me to go to the hospital and have it done under sedation - don’t think he wants to have to deal with me! I really, really don’t want that option, would rather just have it done at the dentist!) . I think it’s going to have to be the latter. I wish it was my old dentist though…he would have whipped that tooth out today before I had a chance to worry any more and that would have been that!
