Help please - reserve an item?

Hello, I’ve run a Facebook campaign and have someone who wants to purchase one of my ducks. It’s currently in an art gallery so I need to retrieve it Mon/Tues next week. I want to do the sale via my Folksy shop (where I will be covered by T&Cs, which I wouldn’t have if I sold via FB). The item had been listed previously but I set it to unavailable whilst it was at the gallery. IS there any way to reserve it for the buyer? She is a bit worried once I activate the listing someone else will buy it (and I wouldn’t want that to happen, I’d feel awful).

Thanks

What you can do is put in the title Custom/Reserved Item for … input name

Then if anyone else buys it you simply send the buyer and email saying sorry this item is a custom order for someone else I am refunding your payment. Sorry for any inconvience.

Once you have altered your title send your lady the link straight to her item with a note saying how long you will reserve the item for her.

all the best

I would list it without a photo of it, I have done this with just a “reserved” sign up instead of a photo. It is unlikely someone else would buy something they couldn’t see and your customer will already know what they are purchasing x

Thanks Susan and Eileen. I’ll keep the original listing as sent that to the customer (I also want that to stand should there be any potential problem as it has all details on it incl dimensions etc) but will amend title as suggested and post up an extra image with RESERVED on it.
