Help with a listing

Hi there New to this platform can i need some help listing items if i make different sizes of an item can i list that on one listing or have i got to do a listing for each size appreciate any feed back

thanks Martin

Hi Martin,

Welcome! You can use variations to add different sizes of an item on a listing if you want to keep to one listing - this blog post explains how to add variations

Or you can do a seperate listing for each size depending on which you prefer!

Hope this helps,

Cheers Lou

Thank you i will have a look

Hi,
I think you’ve set the variations incorrectly - looking at your ornate shelf the 80cm version is £110 but there is then a massive jump in price for the 90cm version as if I put it in my basket the price shown is £230. With variations you need to put in the price difference compared to the cheapest version rather than the final price. So the 90cm would be +£10 on the cost of the 80cm version (assuming its meant to be £120 and not £230).

Thanks for this. I could also do with a reminder of how to do this.

The prices look more sensible now (you can put your own items in a basket to check that the variations pricing is set up correctly)

Just watching the video, can you only add variations AFTER you have created the item and not during the creation of the new item process? I can not see any option to include variations whilst adding a new item.

Yes, you need to list the item first and then choose ‘add or edit variations’. It took me a while to figure this out too!

Me again, can I make some suggestions regarding variations please.

  1. Include the setup of variations within the New Item process
  2. Allow more than 5 photos per item, I have resin items that are made in many colours and would need to create almost identical items in the listing to be able to show the customer all the colours
  3. Link the variation to the photo, i.e. customer choose a red item then show this as the highlighted item, if they then choose a blue one switch the highlighted item to the blue one.

This creates more work than absolutely necessary as it is a two pass process to add one item.

That’s how it is at the moment - it’s only a couple of extra clicks. You could send in a suggestion on the forum here, where staff are more likely to see it: Suggested Features: Hot (235 ideas) – Folksy Support & Knowledge Base

And you could make one of your photos a colour chart or a montage so the customer could see all the colours together in order to choose, maybe?

One of the benefits of the plus account is that you have 10 photo slots per listing rather than 5.

Thank you for this advice. I hadn’t realised this either. Instead of it being cheaper to buy more than one flower they were ridiculously expensive. I’ve just updated, thank you x🌻
