Just spotted that there was a slice of cake next to my username, clicked on it to find out why, and apparently it’s the anniversary of my joining this lovely community. It’s been two years already - well, they say time flies when you’re having fun!
Two years ago I had no idea what to expect, I just knew I wanted an alternative to the orange E-place after 14 years of jumping through their ridiculous hoops, so I picked Folksy because I’d heard of it, I sort-of knew a couple of people who had shops here, it looked nice, it sounded friendly and didn’t cost a lot.
Two years on I’m loving the platform, yes I will admit to finding the stock management system somewhat head-bending and that it’s sometimes been hard to drive sales, it doesn’t have the built-in traffic of the other platform and it’s not (yet!) on the public’s radar in the same way, but I’m loving it all the same. The second year has been much better than the first and I’m hoping the third year will be better yet. When it stops being fun I’ll retire, but at the moment it’s still too much fun for me to want to stop!
Huge thanks to the Folksy staff and a special shout-out for the Support team, it’s so lovely knowing there are actual human beings to contact when there is a problem. And thank you to all the lovely Forum folks who have chatted, advised, supported, shared, favourited and put my spoons in their FolksyFriday boards. The community is the main reason I’m still here

Happy slice of cake day…I had one of those a few weeks ago and wasn’t sure what it was for, mine must have been 6 years as I joined late 2018, not sure of the exact date.
