Hi everyone. We’re hoping to put together a ‘High Fives of 2023’ featuring some of your milestones, achievements and things you’re post proud of this year. We’ll be sharing them across our social media over Christmas.
So if you’ve got something you’d like to shout about, please leave a comment below. Thank you!
learning to draw again, from real life , with old fashioned pencils, and then develop my drawings through to design & embroidered execution seemed daunting & overwhelming (especially for someone as risk averse as i am ), but it’s been fun & rewarding, and a lot of my existing customers have continued to support my new direction.
looking forward to whatever happens in 2024!
My high for this year was actually opening my shop at the end of July. I’ve been making things practicaly my whole life for family and friends. Taking the leap to open my shop and to have folk actually liking and buying what I make is amazing. I’ve started slowly with sales but I have had a returning customer which was lovely. I’ve already learnt such a lot from the lovely community of makers on Folksy and I’m working hard to make my shop a success.
I was happy to be included in the Summer exhibition and another milestone was to be on the best-sellers’ list for one week. I am yet to reach 175 sales (I am currently at 174)!
I made and sold artist bear number 600 in the Autumn (not including the letterbox and scandi bears), never thought I would see a number like that when I started. I’ve had health issues that meant i had to break from my furry creations so i designed a smaller bear to embroider and they have been very very popular. 2 custom orders to list in a day or two and I will have reached 300 sales on Folksy ! This has been my best year on Folksy so far so I’m feeling pretty chuffed with myself…oh and I reached number one in the best sellers earlier this year.
This year so far I’ve had 168 sales on Folksy which equates to about one every other day. Which is usual for my shop, I thought it might be lower this year with the way things are, so thats a high five for me
