Hi again, How many items should i list at first? Is there a minimum amount? Some of my items take a while to make but i am itching to get going.
There is no minimum and I’d recommend listing them as you go rather than doing it in (big) batches - it can get rather mind numbing writing descriptions so if you are only doing one or 2 at a time your brain stays fresh and your listings eloquent.
I agree with Sacha @SashaGarrett on this one, it’s better to do it as you go along, I think you are less likely to cut corners, more likely to give each one the attention it deserves. And then perhaps you can promote each one as you go along too. A good way to stay focused is to join in with the daily listing thread.
You need enough items in your shop to make it look interesting from the customer’s point of view, but personally if there are hundreds of items to look through in one shop, it puts me off! I suggest that you have a look at a few shops that you find really attractive and use them as a guide.
Good luck!
Doing it as you go also means you won’t do what I’ve done which is forget to list something. (I’m stock taking before a craft fair and who knows how long this necklace has been lurking in my stock box)
Thank you so much for the advice. This is the first time i have advertised any of my crafts so i am nervous but excited too!! I think i will go with one or two to start then stock the shop as they are made.
