Stick at it had 5 sales over the last 7 days.
Iāve had a couple as well
My shop is not dead after all
I had one yesterday, a returning customer, just when I thought Iād never sell anything again. It is so hard to stay motivated when things are this slow, but we have to keep plodding on.
One of my two orders was a frequent repeat customer but the other a new
Itās so nice isnāt it when customers come back to you. I always think āOh I must be doing something rightā!
And when I thanked her for returning she said she would be back
I have closed my shop deliberably because itās the other way. I am just so hot. The heat really doesnāt agree with me. A few of my regular customers have emailed me, and they are quite prepared to wait, which is lovely
Iāve had virtually no sales here on Folksy or my other online shop. Iām trying really hard to not get down hearted and Iām just making things because I want to and still listing them because you never know I do think itās the increase in prices for energy as well as everything else and to be honest I havenāt got much spare cash to spend with
Same for me, I had a sale a week or so ago from one of my returning customers, but prior to that nothing for months, I try not to get disheartened too but it isnāt easy some days.
Iām fairly certain the current economic situation isnāt helping but for me certainly cards and paintings are ten a penny and you have to be offering something very special to even get noticed.
The only thing that keeps me here is the fact Iām unbelievably stubborn, I just donāt know when to quit or wonāt accept that perhaps I should!
Your shop is lovely ( especially love your bookmarks) by the way, hang on in there.
Your seascapes are really good, as are your greetings cards. Sorry if youāve already tried this but sometimes local paper shops or maybe independent supermarkets might stock your cards for a small percentage? But donāt give up because your work is lovely
I wonāt give up thatās the trouble, thank you, youāre very kind, Iāve a couple of local shops that I might try, I mean whatās the worst that can happen.
I was very quiet due to not being active on SM or making new items for a few months but Iām really pleased that since my return things have picked up. I made some new bears and most of them have been adopted, a few sales on Folksy and also some local customers. Most are repeat buyers and some do buy regularly but I have had a couple of new customers which is always nice. Hopefully everyone will be flooded with sales very soon, I know how disheartening it is when it goes quiet, think we have all been there at some point x
The 80% fuel increase announced today certainly isnāt going to help
Thank you so much plum porridge for the advice, I have not yet launched a facebook page, with making items, a job, child and dog etc time seems to get away from one, Thank you fro folksy friday too, Iām still not sure how to do such thing yet? xx When I do Iāll make sure to add some of your pretty items xx
Iāve had a few more sales on āāThe Dark Sideāā but none on Folksy since mid May bit sad .
Ive only been on here a few months and 2 sales, one from a friend and another from a fellow folksy x after christmas if I have had no sales I will be shutting it down, after hrs and hrs of self promotion per week, my effort hasnt reaped rewards.
Happy to report that my Very quiet last few weeks have blossomed in the last couple of days⦠maybe the customers are realising that like goes on after all
So far this year 59 sales, best months March 13, May 10 and September 12. 2 so far this month.
Iāve had a couple of sales too over the last week or so, just when I was about to give up.
This year has been dire! Summer is normally quiet as Iām out doing craft fairs, then online sales pick up in October. But a quick look at my records shows Aug & Sept online sales (across sites not just Folksy) are drastically down on normal: 2018 - 47, 2019 - 55, 2022 - 8
