I am JOYSOFGLASS

It may not seem important but when I set myself up as JOYSOFGLASS in 2008 and my shop here in 2009 I deliberately used a name with no spaces . This removes confusion and makes links and urls much easier and prevents errors.
Just discovered that despite having had a shop here since 2009 and with well over 4000 sales Folksy seem not to know my shop name and think it has spaces in it. With spaces I can easily be mistaken for “joy of glass” in America who obviously does not have a shop here.
Just saying to avoid any confusion and also because I am actually feeling rather hurt that my actual shop name has obviously made so little an impression.

If shop name tags were used on Folksy SM posts then errors like that would Not happen.
I note that when We do our Folksy Fridays a lot of care is taken by all the individual sellers to ensure that everthing is correctly attributed and to the correct shop by the full use of tags.
I also note, thank you Folksy, that my shop name and tag is actually correct against the individual photo, though not on the post itself, but please could I request that a two minute check is done against tags on posts as it looks so sloppy and that is not a good look for our customers.

The tag thing on the Folksy forums is a mystery to me too - and sometimes people (self included) have different IG and FB handles, or none at all - I do try to check when making boards to share but sometimes there simply isn’t time to visit eight shops and all their social media so I prioritise getting the board out there to promote the Folksy platform, it’s not ideal if there are missing tags but at least it’s one more thing on the internet that says ‘Folksy’ on it!

But you are tagging and sharing in your own freely given time out of the goodness of your heart. Tags on Folksy posts are put their by Folksy paid staff so I think we could expect them to be correct.

I’m afraid mistakes do happen and I expect that if people are dealing with lots of posts, issues and different shops things get muddled. I know I make mistakes and it is confusing with the different tags but I think most of the time customers do still manage to find us which is the important thing.

Ah but .
Yes of course mistakes are made but my tag, as I indicated, is not confusing as it is deliberately the same everywhere
But . No to the lots of posts . One a day is the normal average
… And… are customers finding our shops ???

Hi Joy, I can see why your frustrated so I thought I’d mention that one of the reasons I chose your items if they come up when I’m doing my folksy friday is because I know you’re easy to find on both FB & IG! That & your items are lovely of course

Cheers Lou

Ah thanks Lou. That really cheered me up.:grin::grin:

I wonder if it is auto suggest? I know sometimes my addresses add spaces because I clicked on the suggested word. You don’t always realise, we’re not all up to speed when it comes to tech.

But those doing these posts Should be up to speed on tech and especially SM tech and should be checking what has been posted… Can’t accept that as an excuse
