Can anyone tell me if it is a bad idea to use the copy function when listing new items?
I have just read something on another thread that indicates this is so, something to do with the potential to rank highly in the search I think.
Can anyone clarify this for me? I ALWAYS use this way of writing new listings and am worried I am disadvantaging myself without even realising it!
Thanks,
Emma
From what I understand Google doesn’t like copy and paste and will penalise you for it. I’m sure someone with greater knowledge can clarify it a bit more
I use the copy function for similar items, but make sure I change some of the text so that it’s not a straight copy.
I use the copy function all the time but only keep the main sizing and info paragraphs for my products.
I always change the Title and opening paragraph of the description.
Seems to work for me.

Hi thanks everyone. I too just keep the boring bits of the text for example the card weight, and how the cards are sent etc. I normally change the info at the start of the listing and the change the titles.
However I wondered by using the copy function in itself it puts the listing at a disadvantage or is it just about the text you use. If it does I could start a new listing each time and copy the old bits from another listing.
Anyone techy out there know?!
