I’m not really sure if it has created any increase in sales. Sales have been a little bit up compared to last year but I couldn’t really say if that is due the option of using Stripe. Maybe!
I don’t think it’s made any difference, to me personally, but if my customers want a choice, I’m happy to have it as an option for those who don’t trust or like Paypal.
Oh that’s a pain!
I think all the card processors are so paranoid about fraud that it sometimes hampers them from being helpful. I know they are also stuck with whatever decision the bank who issued the card makes. Just politely explaining the “why” behind what happened would go a long way.
My bank were absolutely fine with it and let paypal have the money which they kept for several hours before returning. Discussions with Folksy I had at the time lead to us thinking that the listings contained too many flag words and they thought I was funding terrorism hence the flat out refusal to process the payment even after I’d proved who I was. We had the shop keeper contact them but no they would not believe us that I just trying to buy marbled cards.
I Always remove my money from my Paypal account as soon as I have even £20 in there. Quick press of the button and it’s safely in my bank account and safe from anything frozen. Not that I’ve ever been frozen but just to be sure.
Might as well add Stripe to your payment choices. Sales are few and far between on folksy but at least giving this option means that you’re not turning anyone away who doesn’t/won’t use PayPal.
