Is anybody else finding the item listing page a bit excessive? I’ve added a few more listings today and the amount of repetitive information I’m putting in!
I thought that maybe things such as where the item was made and shipping costs could be set as a default, (with the ability to change if and when needed).
I also thought that the colours and materials sections are somewhat redundant. Colours can be seen in photos and both are normally in the item description.
As it stands, I find listing items very laborious and time consuming and think I would be inclined to list more if fewer information was needed.
You don’t actually need to populate the colours, materials (both of which do seem redundant as they don’t seem to appear anywhere any more), when or where fields to list an item. Alternatively if you copy a listing which already has the right materials and/ or colours selected then you don’t need to repopulate those fields, it also carries over your shipping costs etc.
I’m not sure I would want to rely on pictures to show the colours of items. Different screens are set to different white balances, and a blue cast can turn a green item turquoise. I normally use these headings and the materials heading for clarity so that customers can quickly check them rather than having to dig through the text.
Also, the Colours and Materials act as extra tags - if you click on one when you are looking at an item, you see search results for things with that same tag, which is helpful for the prospective buyer.
Hi, Ive just joined today and looking for a little advice. I have listed a few things however they don’t seem to be showing on the site. Does it take a while for them to become active?
thanks
@OrchardsCards welcome to folksy. Listings should be visible to everyone once you have hit the ‘list item’ button (after you have previewed the item). When I look at your shop I can see 6 different listings for save the date cards - how many are you expecting there to be?
I copy a similar item and then the postage is already completed which makes it much quicker for me and I can quickly adjust the other info. Yes I must add the listing on folksy is a breeze compared to Etsy xxx
